Default New To the Z have a few questions about purchase.

Hey guys I am about to buy my first Z I am a Honda S2000 owner but I am ready to change over to a different roadster and am considering a 2004 350 z enthusiast. My question is this the person selling the Z is the original owner its a 2004 and it has 16,500 miles. Even though the mileage is low i am wondering if i need to have a tune up or do some maintenance to the car given the age of it. Please let me know your input i appreciate it thank you.

Id flush all the fluids and change the serp belt. Check the tires for dry rot and prob change them too, they are 10yrs old at this point. If it's got the stock battery still that will need replacing soon too, Nissan had shitty oem ones, Id imagine he's already changed it out though.

Check the maintenance schedule for the Z. I am not aware of any $big$ routine maintenance at 16,500 miles.

Check the hoses and all the belts. My 04 Enthusiast just turned 100K(bought in July 2012 with 86K) has needed nothing besides consuming a little oil. The shitty original battery died when the car was 9 years old, because I park it outside.
Enjoy.

I am hoping the car was not driven at all in the snow but i will have to take a look at that. The seller has a 3rd party warranty which lasts until about 65000 miles no expiration in terms of time. I did check with the company and it can be transferred to me. thanks for the input by the way, i am paying 16600 for it does this sound like a good deal?

it is really low mileage, but at the same time the car is 10 years old... look up kbb on it and see if you can negotiate it down

He has come down to 16600 wanted 17000 for it, i think i am going to get around 15500 or so for my s2000 with 47000 miles so i can't complain about getting a z for 1500 dollars. Thanks again for the info and input, i am excited to get this car!
