Default Another new Z owner, bougth a 2007 350Z !!

I pick it up two weeks from Thursday I left a deposit on it and I am getting ready with insurance and taxes, etc..
I sold my Harley to buy the car, I am stoked I found a nice car and cant wait to pick it up.
It needs two tires as the previous owner put two rear tires on it in Jan but I am assuming couldnt afford to get them all.

So the day after I get it and reg it I have an appointment to get two front tires, then to Mr tint for some shades, back to my house to drop the oil and filter and start fresh with an oil and filter change.

Lastly I am going to give it a nice detail myself and clean it as much as I Can, I mean it looks pretty clean now but I am sure I can give it a good wax to get the paint mint with no swirl marks or anything, and if I have time I am going to try to plasti dip the rims black, although I might wait on that for now.

I plan to take off the day after I do all this for a little road trip to break in the new to me car!!

Its an 07 with 36442 miles in solar orange.
I will try to add a few pics right here if I can.

I paid $13k for the car, compared to the others I looked at I feel like I stole it, very excited to pick it up, I cant freaking wait!!

That few miles, and an HR? Pretty sure you stole it.

Arrest him boys...

If I was you, I would just buy 20mm spacers for the front and 25mm for out back and enjoy the tint. The Z is so sex in stock form.

Plus, black wheels on a SO Z looks like a Z-o-lantern!

Welcome to the board, great lookin Z.

Thanks for the welcomes, I appreciate it, cant wait to learn more and experience the car fully.
I am not up on the lingo yet, what spacers are you referring too? wheels?
LOL thanks for the clarity, I have some reading to do but I have a feeling I will be doing a lot more driving than reading.

Please, no plastidip. You just got the car, don't make me come and take it away, for its own protection, of course. Think twice, mod once.

LOL well I want to do nice wheels and tires, but thats going to have to wait as I replenish some funds, so I just thought in the meantime to see how I liked the black I would try that, I hate the silver rims, personally I prefer the black or black with a solar orange would be cool, I dunno quite yet, I just know I am not a fan of the stock wheels.
I was thinking or powder coating but someone pointed out the materials used might not survive that and then I thought perhaps I would paint them, until someone else mentioned plasti dipping, I had never tried it or heard much about it so I thought perhaps an inexpensive way to get my black wheels now while I figure out what I really want.

Anyway as I mentioned it was a last minute though that I might wait on anyway, I really just want to drive.

I would like to do a touch screen dvd unit that I can get my sat radio on and mp3, dvd, cd, blu tooth hands free phone, etc.. all in one unit, but again its not a priority I have time for that as well.

I bought my wife an 03 tiburon a few months back that needs a little attention so I cant do too much to my Z other than what I mentioned to start off with until I get her car all set.

I really cant believe the deal I got, I paid cash so no payments and I have the clean car fax, the original owner babied the car and put 12k on it in 5 years and never took it out in the snow, the second owner had it for 11 month sand put 25k on it in that time but kept all his receipts from oil changes, a slave cylinder recall and tires.

Sitting in it feels like a brand new car to me, I am just blown away at how lucky the timing was.

Yes. wheel spacers. They make the OEM wheels appear wider than they are and fill out the wheel well more. Best couple hundred dollars(ish) you can spend on stock wheels imo. Make sure to get hubcentric (i had ichiba brand and tehy were great) But H&R makes some as well as more expensive brands like project kics. Just look in the marketplace on here and tehy should pop up soon.

Yeah here in Ct front plates are the law so its tough to find a car without them.
Thanks for the spacer info, thats great.

I am tempted to do what I always do and make a mod list and start saving, lol but for now I am going to control myself, and just enjoy the car stock with a few aesthetic changes.
I will definitely look at wheel spacers though, I am interested in looking into lowering but not sure I will do it, I need to read up on this year and see what the pro's and cons are going to be, I like the look but we all know how practical it can sometimes be.
This car is going to be my toy car, I have another car and a truck but I will drive it alot so I am going to keep it functional and sexy.

Decent deals here. like I said though 20 front/25mm rear. It's not TOO noticeable if you do 25mm all the way around...

Clean Z you have there!
Please, don't do the Plasti-Dip on the wheels.
Gonna cheapen your Z.
Always do mods that ADD,not REDUCE the looks or
performance of your car.

Nice Z, and nice price too.

Just one thing to keep in the back of your mind...the '07's had issues with the concentric slave cylinder. In fact, the dealership would replace it for free if you experienced problems. If you ever put the clutch to the floor and it doesn't come back, that's the issue. It may not be a problem if you don't drive the car too hard. Mine only failed on the track although it did it twice ( at the time the car had maybe 12k on it ). I replaced it with the ZSpeed CSC when I boosted the car and haven't had any issues since.

The slave cylinder was replaced not sure if it was replaced by the same thing that failed the first time or not.

Hi, welcome to the forum and congratulations on your purchase, a couple of points though. Plastidipping your wheels IMO is a cheap looking upgrade on what is a tidy looking motor. Secondly, giving your car a wax is not going to remove the swirls from your paint, if anything it will hi-light them. Your need to either hand polish or preferably machine polish using a compound to remove those swirls and then wax to protect your paint and then it will look the bo**ocks. Good luck.
