Default PROUD NEW OWNER OF A 350z!!! Bought my dream car!!

Hi everyone,
I am beyond excited to say that I am the new owner of a black 35th anniversary coupe! I’ve saved up for more than 3 years to buy a Z, and so it’s surreal to know I actually own one. I can’t believe I’m finally posting in this forum; I’ve waited and worked hard for this day. I just want to introduce myself and a little about the car for those who are interested… I know I will be spending a lot of time on here!

About me:
I’m from Toronto and I currently study at The University of Western Ontario. Its funny how I got into Z’s actually, it all started in 2010 when a buddy of mine gave me a little remote controlled 350z. I was fascinated by the beauty of the car, so I said: “One day I’m buying a 350z. I don’t care how hard I have to work, I will own one.” Well, after 3 years of working my a$$ off part time through high school and saving up, I’m proud to say that I finally own my dream car!

About the car:
So the cars a 35th anniversary edition, #69 (lol yes it actually is #69) and it’s a 6MT. The things MINT, from engine to tailpipes! I made sure that I did my due diligence before buying… I took it to Nissan to get a compression test done and it came well within factory limits. The mechanics there were super nice; they took it for a test drive and checked it out mechanically finding nothing wrong.

I have a lot planned for the car. I’m in the process of listing the upgrades I want to in order of importance given the cost and what they mean to me. I’ll be posting my ideas/stuff I bought throughout the year in preparation for spring install.

I’m really excited to be a part of this forum, and am looking forward to talking/meeting you guys.

I agree with assassin, when I first got mine for the first month I was just waiting to wake up and find out it was just a dream. It's still hard to believe I own one. Unlike some people me and my mom never had much money, we had enough to pay bills (most of the time) and not much else, no thanks to my dad who ditched my mom when she got pregnant... so when I finally got a z after working in fast food and pizza delivery I really just could not believe I finally have one..

Anyways welcome to the fam, congrats on saving up for something you really wanted!

Thanks for the welcoming! I will post pictures as soon as I learn how to, as this is my first ever forum (sad, I know). I am super pumped to be on here and yes, it is completely surreal right now to actually own the car. Big thumbs up for the hard work FOOKhonda by the way, I have a similar upbringing with a family that's tight on cash. Unfortunate, but definitely taught me hard work...

That it does, I have always worked very hard, because I had too, unlike rich folk I had no other choice. I hope you enjoy yourself around here, there's tons and tons of info, I've been here for 7-8 months or so, and still find new info just about everyday.

So this is probably going to sound more noob than asking "what is the best sounding exhaust" but im trying to upload a picture of the car but the popup screen that comes from the "attach files" section wont allow me to upload any pictures. It says my account is not authorized to upload anything so im assuming its because im a new member?

It's great to see some excitement coming back to this forum. Most of the people on here are 2nd wave of OGs. Very few OGs on here as they have mostly moved to other platforms.

Did you buy your Z outright after saving or was that your down payment? (If you don't mind me asking).

I love the black on the Z, but could never own one.

Congrats on your purchase and happy Zedding!

Thanks for the reply NoQuestionZ! I bought the car with cash... I literally drained my bank account from about 4 years of saved money. It was incredible to see the money as real cash and not just a growing number in a bank account, it definitely put all the hard work into perspective. I did also buy an 01 VW Jetta 1.8t for my family about 2 years ago to have a bit of fun and get good at stick. It was definitely a good idea because ive noticed that the 350 is quite touchy with the gas/clutch. Im smooth now but without driving (and owning) manual before this i would either be a horrible driver and/or end up in the ditch!

NICE! I wish my situation would have went the way I wanted. I was paying on my RX8 waiting for it to sell when I got the Z. I paid the Z off in 34 months vs the 72 I had it from the bank. That's all I was askin you for...

Now you have to TRY to keep cash in your account due to the Mod bug. PLEASE keep up your (so far so good) reputation and research before asking or buying in the future......That said, any plans for it?

How do you not know what OG is? Original Gangsta. Aka The dudes who bought their Z new or near 2003. I feel like I've been here forever and I'm only going on 5 years in February/March!

Congrats on the purchase! Good luck with your new Z.
Btw, are there aftermarket taillights on the Z? If so, please swap them out with the 06-08 oem led taillights. They are way better looking. Have fun...

Yes, when I bought it the guy had those ugly things on. I havn't yet done my research but I would ideally buy the 06+ taillights. The only thing is that id imagine they are gonna cost significantly more than just grabbing some 03-05 ones from a junkyard. But dont quote me on it (lol literally) i havnt done any research and im assuming i can find some for a reasonable cost. Guessing marketplace is a good place to start looking?
