Default So excited, just bought a 2007 350z!!

I recently sold my Jeep, and after thinking about various cars such as Audi's, BMW's, and Honda's I landed on a 350z as the perfect car for me. Some of those other cars have great performance but are very expensive to maintain. Other's are great in terms of maintenance, and reliability, but are rather boring.

Every review I read, or watched on youtube seemed to have fantastic things to say about the 350z. When I went out for a test drive I was blown away. I never thought this sort of performance would be attainable for my price range. I instantly put down the deposit, and can't wait to pick it up next Saturday.

I would welcome any input on what you guys like about the car, and what you would upgrade. Here's a side view, and it has 43,000 miles on it.

Personally, I really like the overall look of the car for the most part. It has 20" deep dish rims, 295/25ZR20 rear tires, 275 front tires, and lowered ride height, which improved the look of the car imho. It also has a nismo exhaust system, and aftermarket air intakes.

The things I'm thinking about changing at this point are painting the door handles white. When you look at high end sports-cars like Porsche's, Lambo's, Ferrari, Aston, etc... they look cleaner with the same colored handle as the car generally. The silver handles to me seem a little cheap looking.

Also, I'm probably going to look into ways to upgrade the interior of the car a bit. I get that they can't provide this sort of performance at this price while having everything top notch. Something has to suffer, and it seems like some things in the interior have suffered. I'll have to look more into what can be done to upgrade the aesthetics, and make it feel a little 'richer' inside. So far in my limited research I've seen some good results with people applying carbon fiber vinyl to the middle console section, and some of the painted/plastic parts on the door.

Finally, I think I'm going to look into blacking out the tail lights (instead of red), and tinting the windows. Kind of like a consistent theme of white/black/chrome on the outside of the car without red in the mix.

Any thoughts?

Anyways, I'm thrilled about the new car, and am excited to talk with you guys about 350z's.

Welcome! Congratz on the nice Z . Is it a manual or auto?

Some of the things I have done/waiting to be delivered atm that you might want to look into are carbon fiber wrap,Redline boots/armrest,03 cluster cubby, nismo shift ****,nismo mats. Nice sound system also helps. Personally next will be some black/red stitched seat covers for me.

Thanks a lot man!

It's a manual transmission. I've never owned anything but standard transmissions, and that was part of my search criteria for this car. I'll definitely look into those things, thanks for the suggestions!

Ok, so I picked the car up last weekend, and OMG I love this car so much. Jesus.

My last vehicle was a Jeep. Just about the worst possible vehicle you can get from a driving-enjoyment standpoint when driving around the city. The summer's nice when you have the roof off, and sometimes it came in handy when there's 4 wheel drive needed. Other than that, bleh. Driving down the highway? Yawn....

In the 350z I feel so connected, and engaged in the driving experience. Every corner I go around it's just so flat, and every time I give it a little punch I grin from ear to ear. I did attempt to really give it the beans on a vacant country road with no one in sight, and holy mother of God. The passengers ranged from 'scared shitless', to 'laughing hysterically' at the speed and acceleration. The one thing they all had in common is the performance them feeling some strong emotions.

Strangers have randomly caught my attention to say they really liked the car, and friends/family gush over it. I took my little 18 year old cousin (that's apprenticing as a mechanic) out for a spin, and my sister shot me a text saying he hasn't stopped talking about it since I left 6 hours earlier.

All this performance for $15k Canadian? Why didn't I buy this car sooner?
