Default Pro 2 clutch difficulties

Hi! I have recently bought my dream car, obviously a Z. It is a 2006 MT with a pro 2 clutch in it. I havent had the car long, and it seems impossible to get out of first smoothly at all. I'm fairly experianced driving manuals, and I usually dont have a problem setting off. The only way I can set off in my new Z smoothly is to ride the clutcj for what feels like 5 or so seconds. Which should be way to long right? I generally rev to about 2k when I set off. To get a smooth take off without riding the clutch that long, do I need to rev higher? It also seems that, from 1st to 4th, i have to give a touch of gas when I up shift or else the car slightly jerks to match the RPMs. But in my buddys Cobalt SS every up change is as smooth as can be without a touch of gas. I get that every car is different, I just want to figure out wether the clutch is just that trucky, or if something is wrong. Thanks.

I'm actually having somewhat the same problem with my stock clutch......(this is how I came across this thread by looking for answers). But in my case I'm in the process of tuning my car, and think I may have damaged the clutch by launching from 3rd gear (Advised by the guys at uprev). Hopefully nothing is wrong, but I am now experiencing what you are talking about. When shifting it takes the clutch a couple seconds to fully grasp on, and put full power down. It didn't do this previously, but it is now.

Sadly I don't have any answers, except maybe bleeding the slave cylinder which is what I will look into. Not sure if it'll solve the problem, but I'll let you know if I find anything.

You aren't having an issue with your clutch, you just don't know how to drive it yet. Feed the car more rpm to get it going. If you have a light weight flywheel its going to chatter, that's just how they work.

You would be right. After just a week I can drive it like a pro. Heel toeing and all!

Hey, that's what they told me! There are two ways to get the log info. By doing a full 0-60 pull starting at first gear, and going through properly. Or starting in 3rd gear. After I tried it in third a few times, they told me to give it a lot more gas...... in the beginning. Even told me to remove the mat just incase it's in the way? I shrugged, and said "alright".
