Default Bad mpg

Hi, I have a 2003 track model the thing has power from hell but I only get 13MPG.
What's the deal?I do have a small emissions leak but man that couldn't cause such bad MPG could it?

well, actually I get 13.74MPG.But EPA says it should be 20 city and 26 highway I mean that is a big difference whats up with that?I do have a check engine light on and the code says "small emission leak"and am not sure when the plugs were last changed, but I don't think it should make that much difference.I am going to take it into the shop soon, they say they have to have it sit over night in order to run down vacuum leaks when it's cold and less than a half tank of gas

What fuel type are you using? For 7 years the only fuel I used was Sunoco 93 and my mileage was terrible. 14.5 MPG at best.I never cared about gas mileage to really look into it but 1 night the only station I could find was BP.After filling up my mileage went up drastically. For 2 years now my mileage varies between 20.5- 22.5 highway/city. Nothing lower same type of driving...

I came across another unique scenario. One port completely clean(down to, and including the valves), with no carbon deposits. Port/Cylinder #2, second from the bottom...

No tune/AFR correction? Lots breathing mods probably putting your AFR out of ECM-correctable range.

Def affects mileage in either direction of stochio. But not so much you, Matt, your mileage seems OK. Others might want to check AFR due to leaks or other breathing issues. Me, I get 57mpg.

Downhill.

An emission LEAK.. Interesting. What code was it throwing? How many miles does your car have?

I have a bridge to sell ya.

All my driving is in the city going up and down hills. On the highway, I average about 28. That said, I only do about 5 percent of my driving on the highway.

I normally got 22 combined with mine, 28 for freeway trips and 18 to 20 just in town.

I did drive only on base for 5 days, maybe 40 miles total, short little trips and my MPG was 10.

Breathing mods, my car went for 4 years without a tune. It's not your problem

I get 22 combined as well for mine, and that's with a decent amount of miles on the car. Bone stock.

10-12 city, 24-26 highway is what I see a lot.
