New owner, first exhaust. Tomei Exhausts sold on eBay legit?
Hey all,
I have been searching through threads however I can’t really find a solid answer to my question. I recently got my Z last summer and am ready to purchase an exhaust. I’m set on buying a Tomei Expreme Ti. I was originally going to purchase it from Zociety, or CZP for retail of about ~ $1050. When browsing other sites I checked out eBay pricing and noticed I had a coupon that would save 20%. With the coupon I can purchase one on eBay new for about ~ $800. It’s not a huge difference but it is about $200 cheaper.
My question to everyone here is are the Tomei’s being sold in box on eBay legit? Or should I be worried about replicas or fake products and just pay on a website such as CZP.
edit: if it matters, seller is located in Cali, US with 27k reviews averaging 98% positive feedback.
Thanks

While there are a lot of copies/reps of everything on EBay, they are a legit source for real parts (and lots of other stuff) if you do your shopping right. It is as legit as Amazon (which isn't saying that much considering I'm not a big fan of Amazon).
Nonetheless, EBay NOW has great customer service and the money back guarantee is a huge plus. (I've had to use them a couple of times but on over 350 varied purchases, that's not a lot and both times, they resolved the issue pronto.)
Businesses live and die by their ratings on EBay so if you're not happy, MOST vendors there will go out of their way to help you earn a good rating from you.
FTR, I've bought a LOT of parts for all of my cars there as well as having purchased three cars off of EBay. I don't really recommend buying cars there unless you really know what you're doing and have at least semi-direct communication with the seller but parts, yeah, all good.
