Been in the Z scene since since I was 16. First Z was an 85 - manual, red, leather, clear coat was so beat up it might have well have been matte red. Had 240k on her before I had to do a part out do to a rust and a bad maf.
Moved onto a black 85, manual - of course... but spent very little time with her due to the fact that I found an 84 Anniversary Turbo. Loved it, drove her into the ground and don't regret a single moment.
From there I went to the Z32 - 93TT. Bought it, built it, blew the motor - built it again. Loved that one too.
I just bought a 2004 350z. Was looking on and off for years for a Daytona Blue, Manual, Leather, loaded model. Got an insanely good deal on an 04, auto, enthusiast model. Although its auto, im not complaining right now, its not a DD but ill have a lot of fun with it. Shes a bit rough, needs some paint but the mileage is decent and I got a killer deal, looking forward to this being my goto summer ride.
Joining the forum for the obvious reasons - tech, sales, all that stuff. Hey everyone.
The truth often isn't. The wheels suck, the auto sucks too.

Comparing the auto in a Z33 to the trans in a GT-R is inane. You are talking about a 100,000 dollar car to a sub 30k (new) car, meanwhile, Model Ts are slow compared to the space shuttle. Any other ridiculous comparisons you want to make?
Someone can give me an auto Z33 for 1 dollar, and the ONLY reason I would take it, is to sell it to someone.
Plenty of ‘life’ experience here, and I navigate it better than most. Thanks for sharing the mundane philosophy though, maybe someone else will benefit from it.

Critique the slush-box and less than ideal wheel-set all you want, no issue with that. Your poor choice of words to leverage disabled veterans to express your disdain for ‘having an automatic’ wasn’t humorous. Wasn’t funny the first time I read it and it still isn’t today.
Represent here, or anywhere, however you choose, your call. But do know there are some here that are veterans, and some of us that today support members of the community who are putting their lives back together psychologically and physically because of combat related-trauma (dismemberment, disfigurement). Might even be some of us old dogs here that are multi-generational Vets with family that lived-out their lives contending with physical limitations as a result of war that hampered mobility and quality of life. Maybe the simple things were taken away…like driving a ****ing car.
Hey Don, just bought a 2003 auto for a good deal too. It's my first Z, and I'm having a blast. A bit of a fixer upper too.
My wheels are original, but need some love, as the headlights, and the engine bay. And the trim. And the front bumber. lol

A cavalier comment that didn't need to be said.
17+ years active Army (and counting), multiple deployments, save that nonsense for someone else, thanks.
”17+ years active Army (and counting), multiple deployments…”
Commendable (sincerely), but...don’t care, you’re just another one of us in-line. That’s the rationale? “I’m serving today so I can spew callous comments unchecked?” No, you posted it, you own it. I’ll afford you this; “I now expect even more from an active-duty troop [you], not a comment like the above.” But again, your call.
”…save that nonsense for someone else,…”
Nah…you’ll dictate nothing here or in any public discourse with me, ever. I’ll post a reply, you’ll read it, that’s how it will work. “Nonsense?” Humorous ( I really did laugh), but more so, disappointing.
“…thanks.
For what? You’ve not benefited from me, nor will you, no “thanks” warranted.
