I've been lurking the forum for a few months and I recently purchased a 2005 350z Performance with 72k miles. It is pretty much stock and in need of care. The body has a few dents, the transmission is giving me some headaches, and there are tons of minor fixes I need to do, but the engine is strong. I am really happy with it overall!
My goals are to learn more about mechanics in general, improve my driving skills and have fun! I'm looking forward from learning from all the experiences shared here!
I bought it with intentions of using it as a daily driver. Having only two seats didn't bother me yet, and the trunk has enough space to do groceries and carry stuff around. I also had some good times driving on snow.. I was a little bit scared after reading so many posts on how bad they handle in snow, but it's been great!
Here are a few pics I took the night I brought it home:
You won't have problems in snow and on ice if you mount snow tires at every corner. Purchase an inexpensive set of 17" wheels for winter driving, and mount snow tires on these wheels. That way you can simply swap your dedicated wheel/tire setups (OEM wheels with summer performance tires and 17" Winter wheels and snow tires) seasonally.
