New owner of 350z but need advice on how to get it fixed.
So I’m new to driving and cars in general. I recently bought a 350z for 3 grand. The guy didn’t speak good English and it seemed like a pretty good deal. Except later after we checked it out I realized that it was actually a rebuilt car and the back end was pretty beat up under the “screwed on back number”. I found the car on Vinreport.io and it was apparently rear ended pretty bad and the person who “rebuilt it” did a pretty bad job of fixing the back end. I would like to get it fixed, if not fully replaced. Any advice on how to do that and or how much it would cost to get the back end replaced? Thanks Post on facebook market place, new fenders, bumper, lights Picture of the damaged is sustained in the accident. And what they apparently “rebuilt”. When I look at now it looks like they lazily just pulled out the back end and it’s all broken back there and nothing fits flush in the back end
Good luck.....the rear quarters are not replaceable so if they are poorly repaired you may not get em any better without spending a ton of money, bumpers are reasonable and easy to replace, that tail is horrid.

well dang. I guess that’s both good and bad news since I can’t finally stop looking for a replacement. And yeah I just recently took of that muffler because of how poorly it was put on there. And due to the wreck there is no hanger for the stock one
People who do these cheapass “fix n’ flips” are a disgrace to the human race.
Three grand.... guy probably auction high bid at $450 and put about that much into it. Much if it in bondo and rattle can paint from the dollar store. GRRRRRRR....

yeah. I should have been smarter and looked a bit harder at the car to see what was really wrong with it. But the guy who had it didn’t speak good English at all. The two rear fenders and the back number Dont even match the paint in the front .......
Can't you get get legal involved? It's a wrongful sale. Anyway, you can drill out the spot welds and remove the quarter. And welds the new one on. But, it may be too much work.

well I bought it on Facebook marketplace if that tells you anything. I’m not sure how far I can get with that. He never told me It was a rebuilt and even told it was a 04 when it really is a 03

Facebook MP will offer nothing. They are a listing service only with no skin in the game other than making money on ads served alongside the free listings. Unlike eBay or Amazon, they make nothing on “member listings” therefore no liability.

Hate to say it, OP, but it is kind of your fault for not doing your research before hand. VIN checking a car should NEVER happen AFTER you buy it. Especially if it seems like a "really good deal". Either try to dump it and get what you can back out of it (but dont be a dirtbag and let the next buyer know the story) or replace it. Either way will suck.
Damn, that sucks. From what I see, it's probably not worth repairing. There are plenty of people selling shells cheap after a part-out. It's a ton of work, but you could end up with a (relatively) straight one from two.
I don't see how it can not have frame damage. If it were mine I'd do this in reverse. Take it in for an alignment or a shop that does frame work, see if it is/can be put in spec. If yes then great, evaluate how to proceed with cosmetics and enjoy life.
If no, it'll never drive correctly, may put you at risk and will eat tires. Function > form always. Good luck.
