First off I want to thank all the members of this forum for contributing such an insane amount of knowledge about these cars!
After searching for a cool car for a great price I came across this car posted in the Facebook marketplace. It was located about 50 minutes from my home for $3,000 and I diligently pestered the owner to come take a look. My place in line was far down and I thought it was just another instance of not being 'first' to jump on it. After numerous follow ups and 2 days later I was given the opportunity to drive out and purchase the car, which I did without any hesitation.
After purchasing the vehicle I noticed the vin #000006 and wether it is the #6 overall or the #6 black/black touring 6 speed there's no question it is one of the first Z's ever produced for the NA Market - making this car a little more special to me.
I've already spent hours in the garage, hours on this forum and hours scouring for parts across the internet, and it's all been a pleasure. I love that parts are reasonable wether its OEM, used or aftermarket. I love the simplicity of working on the car compared to the FD's or other cars I have or currently own.
As for now, the plan is to just replace every bit that is either missing, or just part of maintaining for years to come and daily drive the car every chance I can get here in NE Ohio.
Again, thank you to the forum members, this website, Z1 and everybody else who has contributed to the knowledge of Z ownership, I appreciate you!
The photo below in the driveway is the day I purchased the vehicle, still in the previous owners drive way. It is currently undergoing a major freshening up in my garage to get ready for spring. The second photo is of the vin - any additional info on what this car is exactly would be awesome!
