Default Engine stalling

I’ve been having this issue for months with weird intermittent stalling on my 03 DE. I’ve cleaned my MAF and added a new crank sensor and the issue seems to have gotten better but for whatever reason I can force the engine to stall by wiggling with the pcv tube from the valve to the intake manifold. Even 1 finger pokes on this hose makes the engine misfire, shake like hell, and then stall. I hear a slight hiss from this area on the engine but can’t tell if it’s a vaccuum leak or just moving air in the hose. The brake cleaner/propane trick doesn’t seem to change engine rpm. Does this make any sense? I thought people DELETED the PCV system from these motors. One thing I should note is I recently did my valve covers and replaced the pcv tubes with new ones from Z1. Also at one point I had a catch can installed but I cut it out of the system thinking it could be the cause of my stalling but have since reverted back to the standard routing, if the catch can is on or not I have this issue. Could this all be because of the ECM not relearning properly after I did the reset?

Are you using silicone hoses for the PCV system?

That might be your problem - might not. While the silicone hoses won't degrade like the OEM rubber hoses, they don't have the same strong rigid structure. It could be a loose connection at the PCV valve or somewhere else, maybe a kink, or a bad PCV valve. If you're poking the hose and causing it to kink or collapse on itself, it's because the silicone is pretty weak compared to the hard OEM rubber.

is that really enough to make it stall? I’ve seen kits to plug the inlet on the manifold and a small air filter over the valve. It couldn’t be my valve, the valve covers came with a new one but replaced it just in case with a new spare one I had lying around and had the same result.

swap out those silicone hoses as mentioned above. Easy to do and should not cost much. It has to be the hose because when you mess with it causes the car to act weird
