Help - newbie with some questions
Greetings,
I have been drooling over 350z since introduction 2 yrs ago. I have yet to drive one so that is first thing on my list. I have been on the forum for a number of months but still have a couple lingering questions:
1. I will be moving to Philly (currently in Kansas City area) and I am curious if 350z could be used as a daily car in these snow belt areas. Most mention snow tires. Will these help or will I still have issues with 2-4" of snow?
2. I know there has been several issues with the 2003. Would it better to get 2004 and later year models than the 2003? I am trying to save some money so I was really leaning towards used 2003. Perhaps I can look for certain build dates (ie. subsequent to x date for certain fixes to be in place).
Thank you in advance!

sorry i have no idea about the snow questions... but instead of buying an 03, why dont you wait until the 05's hit the showroom and negotiate a deal for an 04 at that time. that way you could have a new car at a reasonable price.
if you are set on getting an 03, i wouldnt worry too much about the issues with them, as you can get them repaired under warranty.

Snow tires make a hell of a difference. I had the Blizzak LM22's on my IS300 and it gripped like no other. I don't plan on driving the Z in snow so I bought a used Jeep Wrangler for the winter.
As for what to buy, I would take ragtopz's advice and wait for the 2005 or get a 2004.5. Being that the 2003s was the first year in production, I would look to the later models. JMO...

I recently bought a 2003. 05/03 build date.
To date, I have 4,000 miles, no sign of tire feathering, no tranny problems, no window grease, got a clear bra for rock chips, no problems whatsoever. **KNOCK ON WOOD**. I am also planning on getting some Blizzak LM22's based on people's recommendations.
