people seem to forget that it is NOT every single persons goal to have a twin turbo or supercharged car. Not everyone buys a Z to race civics on the street. Some people need a daily driver that allows them to have fun on their way to a boring, typical job, and not everyone is into buying a base model, spending 10K on mods that ruin the engine and void warranty.

For certain people, the Nismo Z, is a car that can be obsessed about, while others like to consitantly make the same repetitive remarks to show that they are bigger and better or something I guess.

very good points here guys! As far as reliability goes, my Z has been good to me, no major issues here. And BMW's esp my M3 is pretty expensive, ie, oil changes at the dealer are about $119, recent quote for valve adjustment was about $1k, Its crazy, but my buddy is a BMW master tech so I can offset that cost a bit.

Man I dont know what to do!! in person the Nismo is hot! the rear bumper is the only thing thats bad on the car.

And I dont know what everybody is talking about, it has the Nismo V2 bumper on it!! plenty of guys on here have that! Its pretty clean looking.

Another point as well... I was into the whole Honda/street racing thing...I dont care about it, and I am one of those guys that needs a nice car to travel to work, and possible do some "spirited" driving once in a while. No all out full motor build or anything like that. Its not worth it, esp with the ET's that the heavy hitters on this board are posting!!

the nismo Z actually has a V3 front, the V2 is alot different. The entire body kit on the nismo Z is unique to the car, and I can assure you, no one on the board has any part of that kit.................................yet

the only thing I would really take over the nismo Z or cayman S is the new E92 M3, but as far as a 335, or E92 coupe, having one that shares my houses garage with my Z, I would still take the Z over it.

I am surprised at how much hate the rear end receives on here, I think its unique in its look in that it put function over form (well, in theory). I think it looks great.

I am sure you would be happy with any of the cars on your list, drive them all and go off of your own personal preference.

hell no the nismo z isnt worth the 38k sticker price....... wait for the re-designed Z, or better yet, dump that extra 10k plus into the z that you already have and your car will look better and run faster than any nismo z's

but i dont really like how the nismo z looks anyway.... the only reason its cool is because its rare.... but the body kit and wing looks riced out like all hell

I currently have a 2003 SB perf with a full Nismo Styled CF kit, including fenders and hood by vis and Carbon Creations. 19" Stern Wheels, Apexi N1 exhaust, injen intake, nismo **** and mats, CF a pillars, trunk bar cover, and cluster hood. Along with Brembo OE sized cd/slotted rotors with Hawk Pads. 68k miles on it.

I also have a 2003 E46 M3 which I will be giving to my gf for daily driving.

Thinking of trading the Z in def. What do you guys think? Is the Nismo worth it? Will it hold its value better? How rare is it?

No need for stupid comments either, just some opinions!

Thanks
Get the 335i and chip it or just keep the E46 M3.

The Nismo Z offers a lot of value for the price, but I'd take the 335i. The 335 should be about 10K more though, assuming you're looking at the e92/coupe.

I just dont see the point of paying that much except for bragging rights of saying "Yeah I got the Nismo Z" . The thing turns my stomach , sure it comes with better tuned suspension but I dont see the point in that unless I was hardcore about suspension and actually had a need for it. I mean I love its superior factory tuned suspension but the price tag and ugly body is enough for me to be glad I have the "regular" 07 . I'll do suspension myself later thank you very much but thats just my opinion

why are you trading your current Z in? If you're kind of bored with your car right now, i would advise against the nismo Z.

I'll buy an '03-'04 Z06 before I spend $38K-$40K on a NISMO Z. I don't think you can argue with that.

I really expect to see the new 3.7L in the 08 models considering that the G37 is out now (or is coming out very soon).

I'd rather save the money towards a z370 or g37, know that I've already had a Z. No offense to anyone, trading in an older year for a newer year same car is kinda pointless...IMO. Especially if the car is the same other than some body kits that I don't like. On the Z370 or G37, at least you're spending more for more N/A power.

It's not worth it unless you wan't a factory modified Z with complete warantee coverage.

Otherwise, just mod an 07 Z.

The nismo Z really isn't worth it IMO. Given the choice, I would still take a GT trim over the nismo. I just don't like the extreme body kit it has, since I think the Z's stock appearance is just so much more exotic looking. Plus a Z's got to have pretty much the same effect as the nismo does after just installing exhaust and intake alone, since I doubt a stiffer suspension, racing inspired aerodynamics, and the HR engine would ever really matter in rear world driving anyways.
