so.. let me start off..
I had to get a replacement front strut bar bolt so i headed to my nearest Nissan Dealer of Apex. Mind you that the showroom floor and the sevice/parts department are on the opposite sides of the building.
My buddy is actually the service manager and he knows me from the dealership i work at.. told me i should test drive the nismo edition but i said no since Nisan of Apex call me all the time to test drive one(i bought my car there). I made up the excuse of not wanting them to take it out of the showroom floor. He said it has been taken out already. So i just gave in and said ok. He went and got me the keys, i handed my car keys to him, and he told me to have fun.
Nothing like the look of a brand new car. I never owned a brand new car so it was nice to see a completely flawless vehicle inside and out.
Exterior: Fit and finish, the car was nice. The bumpers and wing doesn't seem to feel or look cheap (other factory kits such as the action package on teh toyota celica seem very cheap and full of plastic). I never favored the look of the Nismo because it just doesn't seem grown up, more of a teenager car but something about it just looked mean. It shouts outs "Agressive" in every way imaginable. From the low stance to the big wheels to the bulge in the hood .
Interior: First thing i noticed were the red in the seats and the red stitching everywhere. Looked very nice and elegant and reminds me of the Honda race vehicles. Then you see this shiny piece by the shifter that had a numbered badge. This badge is probably one of the most important pieces on the whole car itself. Made you feel better about dishing out 38k+ for it. Again, everything was brand new so the smell to the feel was just perfect. No wierd sounds sitting inside, just one solid car.
Engine/driving: Started up the car, you hear the familiar VQ sound just more pronounced. You give it a quick rev and you hear a mean little bark. Sounds so so good. Everything was smooth from the clutch to the tranny. I have driven a Z with the new HR motor already so i didn't take it hard not one bit because i don't believe in redlining a car before you break it in properly. Also that i'm not going to purchase this vehicle so i'm not going to mess up a car for the next owner.
Handling: Steering wheel felt more tight. Every turn without body roll. Driving was so effortlessly. The ride was much smoother than my 2003. It fit stiff but still felt smooth. You felt the road and the bumps but it felt dampened so no wierd sounds or squeeks(probably because of brand new car).
Experience: Me driving around this rich city, i got so many stares. There were no dealer tags or stickers anywhere on the car so no one knew that it was a dealers car (well the dealers plate
). I got two thumbs up from older guys, children everywehre in the shopping centers looking and pointing, it just gets so much attention..postive or negative..still got attention.
DISLIKES: The only complaint is that the seats aren't leather. The red part, since i have experience with red seats, seems like it can get dirty pretty quickk. Many people have dye in their jeans, or just whatever, it can stain really easy. But that's the only complaint i had.
Conclusion: Is this a car that i can see myself paying 38k..well 42k here at this dealership..? Yes. There is something about this car...maybe being numbered that tells you that you have something rare. I hope they dont' make replica bodykits because that would kill the feeling of this car. I thought this car had too much of that "boy racer" look but it still a 350z and it's still looks so classy to me. Like many have said, it's not photo friendly, you have to be up to one to enjoy the looks. It seems like a bigger and longer car which is a plus. If you want to have a fast z and are into modifying it, then just buy a regular one. If you want a car to keep STOCK and keep the price value high and have a rare and collectible car, get teh NISMO 350z. Please don't buy one and start taking things off or putting things on..it's a great car as is.
Thanks for reading.

Maybe those dealers need one Nismo test vehicle and one that can't be driven unless they buy it. LOL, just for you.
