Default Nismo -Everyday Driver?

If I buy the Nismo, it would be my everyday driver. Anyone else use it as an everyday car? Snow and Ice would be the exception.

I am close to a deal but do you think I can do better than MSRP? The dealer I am working with has had two Nismo's since July.

You can ALWAYS do better then MSRP. If your local dealer doesn't want to play, you can always buy out of state. I used to live in Rochester NY and ended up buying a car for a friend of mine over the phone in Miami. Even with shipping I saved him a couple of thousand.

Never settle on just your local circle of dealerships. Service is a whole different story. Remember, you can buy your car ANYWHERE and get it serviced at whatever stealership you want.

lamaz, where did you live in Rochester? I was born and raised in Albion, which is about 30 minutes west of Rochester. Anyways, I talked with a salesman at Dorschel Nissan on West Henrietta Rd. and they are getting me a Redline Nismo Z for $36,200. My brother is actually putting the money down on it today so they can ship it to the dealership.

Oh, and I'm in the military and my next duty station is in Patuxent River, MD and my girl is transferring to NSA in Fort Meade, MD so we are looking to have a house built in or around North Beach. Sorry for jacking the thread, but weird that we are both from around Rochester, NY and we'll both be in the D.C. Baltimore area.

Yes, I was surprised how "livable" this car can be as well perform when it's asked. You'll be fine as daily, that is, unless you need extra space.

Just received the Nov. 07 issue of Sports Car International. Magazine has a red V8 M3 on the cover. Great 5 page test of the Nismo 350Z. I recommend you pick up a copy.

Quote "The Nismo 350Z is easily the best, and most desirable, Z-car since the 300ZX Turbo."

I daily drive my car and its great. I have no complaints. But good luck getting one for under MSRP. They aren't selling for that.

I had an S2000 as a daily, sucked in bad weather so I went and bought an Infiniti QX4. Next year I plan to get a Nismo Z. If it fits your lifestyle --go for it. Just rent a SUV during bad weather but living in the same area as I do, we don't get that much. I would use it as a daily but now I have a newborn so the Z will be my secondary car.

I agree there, if they are talking about the Twin Turbos of 90-96. I love my moms '07 Nismo but I still desire my '96 TT a little more than hers.

I'm planning on driving my Nismo as often as I can. I've got an Acura Integra coupe that I use when I need more space (OK, we DO have a minivan, too, when we really need a LOT more space), as well as for winter driving. The Integra is surprisingly agile on snow/ice with good quality snow tires.

I traded my z in with 65,000 miles. Put snows on in the winter to drive to Vermont to snowboard. Never had a problem. Ordered snows for my NIZMO, my only concern is ground clearance. Just have to watch weather and plan to drive before storms or after roads are clear. Front end appears much lower then Z.

Mine's a daily, but since I live in Florida I don't have to worry about snow and ice.
