It didn't out handle one, but it was 1 mph slower than the Lotus. And that is a fact. Look at the review done by Edmunds.

Well if you want attention the Lotus is the way to go. You said you were taking pics of the car. How many people are going to take pics of your NISMO Z? The Lotus is a car people dream about and talk about.

Umm actually my NISMO Z gets attention everywhere I go, every place I stop I get asked about it, and many take pics of it. It is sometimes upsetting because I am in a hurry and people area always asking.

So yes the NISMO gets a ton of attention. It isn't just a 350z

Just test drove a Exige S today and all I can say is that is one awesome machine. Totally different driving experience compared to a 350Z and I'm pretty sure that the Exige S can out handle a Z at the track.

My Nismo Z gets plenty of attention. Many of us can't fit into a Lotus. The Lotus cost a bit more as well.

The Nismo is hawt looking car, but if you put beside the Lotus Exige S. The Lotus will garner a lot more attention then the Z....that I can guarantee

^ Everyone has an opinion. Don't won't to fight about it. The Elise is a neat car for sure. My Nismo Z is the only one in town. I am 6'2" 189 lbs. & there isn't a Lotus dealership within 100 miles. FWIW in the T2 races I have seen the 350Z spanked the Elise.

Stop comparing a Nismo Z to an Elise. Hands down the Elise will out handle almost anything in its path. The car weighs well under what the Z weighs. Its basically built for handling. That thing is a legal Go-Cart for the streets. nothing will compare to it.

The Nissan site lists the NISMO Z as a base price of $38,070.
The Lotus 2007 Exige S is listed on the Lotus USA site as a base price of $59,890. Basically a $20K difference. I don't think we are comparing apples to apples.

Exactly. The point I think we started out with is the Nismo Z handles very well and is very close to some of the performance numbers the Elise sets with a much heavier car.

Are you blind? Do you just refuse to look at the performance spec? It is a known FACT that the Lotus and Nismo are only 1 mph apart from each other in the slalom. The NISMO has a lot more power, and will easily spank the Lotus on a road course. The Lotus only shines on a autox type of course due to its size. The NISMO Z was also built or handling.

Lol at this thread if people actually think a heavy *** 07 Z can spank a elise in a road course. Have you ever heard of power to weight ratio???
Z weighs in @ 3600-3650 w/ driver.
Elise, maybe 2150 - 2200 w driver.

I love my Z and all but come on now, no stock Z will spank a elise on a road course.

You know, we all know the weight difference, but we also know what the performance tests have shown. And there is no denying that the NISMO Z handles just as good as the Lotus. And the NISMO or 07 Z actually runs the 1/4 much faster than the Lotus. It is a more powerful car. Yes it might be heavier, but AGAIN the Performance numbers show the real facts.

You don't own a NISMO Z or have ever driven one. So you really have no clue how it handles. So please stop posting misinformation that you have no clue about.

1 mph in a slalom is hardly anything to speak about.

Lotus does 13.5 at best at 101 mph in the 1/4. Our Z has shown 13.3 at 105 mph. 4 mph faster in the 1/4.

This is a huge advatage especially on the road course. If they both went at it, the NISMO Z would have no problems with the Lotus at all.

This proves my point. The Lotus Exige is Supercharged and only was faster by 1 sec on the road course. The Lotus Elise isn't near as powerful.

Newest episode, November 2007, they tested a lot of cars in Sugo this time, Civic Type R, Modulo Civic Type R (Civic Type R with bodykit), and Nismo fairlady Z, they all got 1:44.5 to 1:44.7. For comparison, they also tested LP640 (1:37.8), Gallardo Spyder (1:40), XKR (1:46), Lotus Exige (Supercharged) (1:43).

Just a reminder that all of these drivers are professional drivers.

Unfortunately they don't use the Lotus for 1/4 miles racing .....we are talking about road racing and handling abilities of both cars.

Even the m3 guys admit that the exige is faster than their car around a track. This thread is reminds me of the thread on the rsx forum where they think their car is better than a Z.
