Default Info on a review of a Nismo at the track! I'm getting a 2008 Nismo 350Z!

Hi, my name is Chris, I'm a new member. Today I found out that my Dad's good friend's Nissan dealership will be getting at least 5 allocations for the 2008 Nismo 350Z, in which everything will be the same as the 2007 model, except the model year obviously, although there will be color changes to all other 2008 models, the dealer said. But anyways he guarunteed me his first one, and I'vbe boguht two other Z's from him, an '03 Le Mans Sunset Touring 5 speed A/T, and an '04 Le Mans Sunset Touring 6 speed M/T. But here is my only problem I ahve a month to decide what color I want and I can't choose? Black I think is awesome, but it is too hard to keep, and everyone has one, I'm not crazy about the Z's Red, so it is between White and Silver. I am leaning towards the White, which is the most rare color of them all I feel, but Silver is so nice too! So I would love some feedback on everyone's thoghuts ASAP! Also those of you that are wondering what a '07-'08 Nismo's Specs are they are quite respectable! My Dad's friend who owns the dealer has many dealerships, and was invited to Arizona where they held a special track test of three cars last month, a '07 Porsche 911 and a '07 Chevrolet Corvette Z51. And on the track the Z was the slowest, but with respectable numbers: they were able to get on a hot day a 0-60 of 4.9 seconds (but an average of 5.0 seconds the two days they were there), a 0-100 in 12.3 seconds, and a Quarter Mile Time of 13.3 seconds. Now the last 350Z tested was a '07 Base Z, no limited slip diff in the June '07 Car & Driver. It did a 0-60: 5.2, 0-100 12.6, and Quarter Mile: 13.7. So it is a couple of tenths of a second quicker in genreral, now that could be the traction control from the diff, and VCS. But what I found amazing was that at the track the 911 pulled 0.95g L/R, the Vette Z51 pulled 0.98g L/R, and the Nismo Z pulled 1.02g L/R. And that Base Z tested pulled I believe 0.93g. And I was also told that the Z had a tied quickest lap time with the Vette, the 911 was a second and three tenths slower. And also when the they were all on the track running practice laps, the driver driving the Nismo let the 911 pull ahead by 100 feet, and by the end of the practice lap he had almost a third of the track on him. And even before they recorded hom many g's the cars were pulling the driver of the Nismo in practice, who also drove the other cars, said the Nismo is definetely pulling at least 1g, and the other cars weren't! Well he called it. And I know there was no biased to this story becasue for one the owner of the dealership is a friend of the family and wouldn't lie, and he also owns a Chevy Dealer, becasue he sold me my most recent vehicle a '05 Chevrolet Covette Coupe Z51, which I am handing over for the new Nismo, because after driving the Vette, I realized my Z was much better quality and it was more practical and fun. But anyways I'm sorry for posting such a long thread, just thoguht that was some awesome stuff on the Nismo and good luck to all that have them here and I'm glad to be a new member here! Thanks!

I am not surprised. I just think there has been a lack of testing of the HR engine in the Z. I can only think of one mag that tested to date....

Yeah I should have spaced the post my bad, but I'm glad everyone seems psyched. And I know there has been alot of people saying Silver but for some reason I keep feeling White, but I'll keep thinking and hopefully you'll keep posting, see I've never seen the Silver in person, its the only color I havn't seen in person. But I know most people are driving Silver and Black from what I've heard. But I'm glad everyone likes this information, I was glad to share it!

Go white. Silver is overplayed.

If it wasn't a 350Z, I'd hate cleaning mine.

By the way slalom resluts from the track were 1.02g (already mentioned) and 72.5 mph around the slalom. Amazing simply amazing what they did with this car, it is just such a beast! On the track it will be hard to find a better car!
