Question Any complaints so far? Nismo owners?

Maybe too soon to tell yet... But are there any other problems or complaints you Nismo owners are experiencing other than those unlucky ones who had the 07 clutch problem?

Any slight pulling to the right or crappy (really dusty)brake pads, stinky A/C, bad roadnoise (had these nit picks on my 05 z), any others?

Just some last few questions before the ultimate decision (dealer has a 08 on hold)

Only my own sucky driving

Apart from that - it's fricking awesome!

I actually love the way you can feel the road down to it's intimate spots. My wife doesn't though - I accelerated off a light and she spilt soda down her skirt

yes there is brake dust, but it isn't as noticable on the dark rims until you wash it all off and see how nasty it really was. i'm sure the ride is harsher than stock Z's...but i came from an S2000 so harsh and road noise is relative. the nismo is a really nice ride compared to the S. i've had very very minor brake squeak...but then i followed the break in to the letter. maybe that helped? (easy on the brakes for 500 miles) it's a really nice car. i love it. i wouldn't consider it for a daily driver though. i'm kinda paranoid about it...something about the serialized plate and knowing that repair costs will be a lot more.....

I'm not lucky enough to have a NISMO Z, but I can say that the Brembo brake dusting is the same across all Z models. I think it's a good thing. Why? The OEM Brembo pads are quite a bit softer then the very expensive brake rotors. If they didn't wear the way they did--particularly with street driving--you'd have a harder pad material that would eat away at the surface of those same pricey rotors.

So enjoy those NISMO Zs and those excellent Brembo brakes! I've enjoyed them for years on my pre-order track model (and incidently gone through quite a few brake pads). Having driven one of the pre-production NISMO Zs and reviewed the car for Nissan Sport Magazine (Summer '07 issue), I can only say lucky, bloody YOU!

No complaints yet. Only 700 or so miles on it so far though.

Thanks for the replies everyone!

Speaking of the 07 clutch problem... Any chance Nissan used or is using the updated cylinders for the 08/higher # Nismo's? Hubby is kinda concerned about the clutch problem.

Seconded David.. Having had to replace a few rotors in my youth (Dad - why are my brakes grinding? ) I can attest to the fact that you'd rather replace pads than the disks/rotors.

I do notice a fair bit of dust - but hell, it justs blows off pretty much.

i think the tires that came on the nismo are pretty terrible. obviously zero snow grip, worse than any tire i've ever owned, BUT rain and dry pavement performance is pretty crappy. i shouldn't be breaking traction shifting into 3rd with only 300hp!

i think i'm shopping for tires asap!

No problems at all with my NISMO with 3300 miles. I will say though the issues you had on your 05 you might have on this car. Pads do dust, and roadnoise is there. It is a sports car not a Lexus.

Popping sound? Like if you go over a bunch of hard bumps? Mine does this rarely too.
