it is pretty straight forward, what do you need help with?

I will tell you that installing the ends FIRST makes everything easier

Thank you for replying! I was hoping to use the OEMseat belt with the harness bar. The problem I am having is the 9mm bolt that holds the seat belt is too short to use when I utilize the bar attachment piece. Did you maintain your OEM seat belt or did you just use the OEM bolt to attach the bar without the OEM seat belt? It looks to me that if you use the OEM bolt, it is too long. What did you do?

yes, you can remove the clip and use the stock bolts. If you do not have the longer bolts you can take 1 stock bolt and go to a hardware store and get something a little longer.

I bought the bar new and it did not come with a longer bolt. I have tried to find a longer 9mm bolt and can't find anything. The clip on the seat belt has a piece that fits into a small hole in the plastic right below where the bolt goes to guide the seat belt correctly. I would be concerned removing the clip in that the seat belt would not be guided correctly in case of an accident. Have you insalled a sparco bar in you z?

I have not been able to find a 9mm longer bolt in any stores I have checked or on the internet. Figures they would use an uncommon bolt size. Any help you can offer would be apprciated.

Default sparco

Use the existing OEM bolts and OEM shoulder harnesses when you reattach the end brackets for the Sparco bar. You can the continue to use your OEM seat belts and shoulder straps.
I purchased (2) sets of Sabelt six point safety harnesses. Each set comes complete with (4) oval "O" bolts. The (2) Sabelt shoulder straps attach to the Sparco Bar behind you.

You will need to remove the bolts for the seats. The Sabelt harnesses come with four "O" threaded bolts. Drill the Holes out for the OEM seat bolts, large enough to accommodate the oval "O" bolts provided by the Sabelt setup. Retap the threads for the "O" bolts which you just drilled slightly larger. Fasten the seats back down with the Sabelt "O" bolts provided in the kit. The two Sabelt lap belts and the two crotch belts have spring clips on the ends of them. Whenever you go racing, merely snap the Sabelt clips on the respective "O" bolts holding down your seat. Then grab the two shoulder harnesses and snap them in the special harness release clip. Adjust the (6) straps and away you go.

I store my six point harnesses in the glove box when I'm done after unclipping them from the "O" bolts. The two shoulder harness belts are left attached to the Sparco bar and away you go.

The OEM bolt does not appear to be long enough when you add the thickness of the end bracket for the sparco bar. Were you able to do what you recommended?

I used the stock bolts. the thickness of the brackets is about 1/16th of an inch so the stock bolts are adequate.

I just measured the thickness of the bracket I was sent. It is 3/16th of an inch. The other issue is the round cylinder that normally fits into the plastic hole where the bolt is. This cylinder will sit on the bracker adding another 3/16th of an inch. I have therefore used up 3/8ths of an inch of the bolt which is the amount of thread left when measured with the cyclinder on.

seek the services of a professional if you cannot do it yourself.

I loooked at the bracket on my Z.
The bracket lays flush on the A pillar. 3/16ths of an inch is the same as mine.
Put the bolt with the entire shoulder harness bracket assembly thru the hole in the Sparco bracket. It lays flat up against the Sparco bracket which is flat up against the A pillar. Mine was plenty long enough without any modification. There should be no need for a longer screw. I installed mine last year without a problem. Do you have the bracket installed correctly? When I installed mine, I put in in up-side-down and had to remove it and reverese it.

Try Fastenal. They have a good assortment of bolts, and if they don't have it they can get it.

It looks like if I remove the OEM seat belt guide I will have sufficent space for the harness bracket assembly to fit using the OEM screw. It looks like if I want to retain the seat belt guide I will need to cut the cyclinder in half. Has anyone done this in order to retain the seat belt guide?
