remove the spacer. You do not need to remove the guide. There is a spacer, that looks like a skateboard bearing.

I had the same problem to start with,,since this came with ZERO directions, and none available from the Sparco web site for the 350Z model......so I called the dealer who sold me the bar,,,they told me to call Sparco,,,,I called Sparco and they told me to call the Dealer. This really pissed me off and I will never buy another Sparco product!!

However, I figured ot out myself, and it works fine now.

 

I completed the installation today. Success! Next step is to install schroth harness.
