NISMO 08' options/acc question
No great loss w/o factory Bose and Nav:
Aftermarket stereos offer better features (Bluetooth!?), better sound and better Nav -- for less money.
To the poster who suggested that the Nismo is just a track model with a fancy body kit: you're right, except it handles BETTER than a track model...which makes it even cooler.

Considering how much time is spent in the vehicle with the radio on, having a nice audio system is important. Does the NISMO radio have a audio input jack on the front? If it does I'm fine with keeping the stock radio, and getting some kind of removable nav system. If it doesn't - does anyone know of a kit or manual on getting an audio input jack put on it.
anytime i start getting bored or frustrated with the stock stereo system, i just roll the windows down and redline 1st and 2nd. kind of calms me down. probably would be even better with an aftermarket exhaust. or twins. greddy release the HR twin kit, please.

I would have liked an MP3/I-Pod jack though - that does **** me off a little as I do not want to mess with the original stereo.
When you look at the weight of these extras, they really aren't that much - nothing that is going to make a massive difference considering the differences in weight of the driver and skill at the track.
I was given a Garmin Nuvi for Christmas, and fitted it pretty losely in the cubby hole so it could be removed. worked for me so far, just need to get an FM transmitter for it now so I can listen to Audio Books and MP3's.
Still not going to be as good as an actual MP3 jack... but hey ho.
edit - oh yes forgot to mention that the dealership told me in no uncertain terms that they would not retro fit anything and there was no option to change it prior to delivery. They were made in the special production line in Japan - and that was it.

I recommend a DLO player if you have an Ipod. Do not get one of those flimsy wired transponders or the wireless ones. All of those I have tried are crap. The DLO sticks right into the power adapter to the right of the drivers seat. Its pretty stable and you can get it in black so it matches the car. Runs about $100 bucks. You can get them at any Best Buy.
I guess DLO and the like wireless FM transmitters are fine if you live in the boonies or the country, but in big cities... they are almost unbearable. It just seems that you have to readjust the signal every time you start the car.
