Hey guys im looking into getting nismo exhaust for my 2007 z but while searching i realized that the exhaust tips for the 2007 NISMO Z are way bigger than the S-tune exhaust tips and i thought that the 2007 nismo edition z came with the s tune exhaust im kinda confused because i really like the way it looks on the nismo z , can someone help me figure this out lol ?

Yeah, the tips on the NISMO are huge and extend a bit lower.

The NISMO only gets the muffler portion.

The S-tune is comprised of the muffler, midpipe and y-pipe.

You can find used NISMO mufflers on sale if you're interested.

Will the NISMO mufflers sound different than the regular one? This is the muffler that comes on the official NISMO Z right?

Just putting a Nismo muffler on the car is half a$$. If your going to do it then do it right, and by the complete exhaust system. The s-tune exhaust looks better imo. The muffler tips on the Nismo Z are to big and just for show. The S-Tune exhaust tips are stock size and are angled upwards a bit. They also have the nismo logo on each tip.

Looks are subjective, but I compared both side by side, up on the rack and much preferred the NISMO tips.

The S-tune sounds good, but the downfall for me has always been the tips.

I wasn't too sure about exhausts with very large tips before, but it definitely complements the diffuser on the NISMO. Other exhaust with similar sized tips include the HKS hi-power, Greddy EvoTT and Tanabe hyper medalion, but there are many more.

To the OP, the aftermarket exhaust mentioned would be preferred over the NISMO, but if you get a used NISMO muffler and pair it with a quality y-pipe, that would make for a nice combo.

I have a Nismo cat back on my new 08. Looks and sounds awesome. No drone and a nice mellow, deep tone. I think the large tips on the Nismo make it look total rice. Check out the pics.

I have the Stune on my 04, the sound comes on at higher rpm. Its not like stock where the vroom comes out right away, you hear it more at higher rpms on the stune version.

I like it a lot more then stock, who drives at low rpm anyways

When the sound comes on, its amazing, more meaner bolder sound. Dunno tho, since you have the Nismo Z, the smaller tips might look funny? I guess it depends how you look at it.

i completely agree with your first statement. Its not like the stock where there is a "vroom" right when you go.

however as for your 2nd statement, i actually would rather there be more sound right when you accelerate. People who live in busy cities drive in lower RPMS.

Here is my question:
Does the Nismo S-tuned exhaust system fit the Nismo Z?

The theNismoShop.com site says that is does not fit. I want to keep the muffler but change the Y-pipe and straight pipe.

What will I gain if this can be done? Any thoughts?

The S-tune mid-pipe will not bolt up to the Nismo's muffler. Even if it would, the diameter of piping on the Nismo inlet is tiny compared to the s-tune exhaust.

I don't know why thenismoshop.com says the s-tune muffler won't fit on a Nismo. Perhaps because the tips are angled up, but I dunno. Any exhaust system for a 350z *should* fit a Nismo.

Thank you. I love the sound of the exhaust with the Nismo CAI, and I was looking at replacing the exhaust system (minus the muffler) before I have the ECM reflashed. The big fart pipes are a signature of the Nismo... so I would hate to change this aspect.

You might just want to look into getting the s-tune exhaust and then having the tips cut off the Nismo's factory muffler and welded onto the s-tune muffler. That idea has crossed my mind.

Edit - You could also look into the Fujitsubo Legalis R or Super Ti exhausts. If I remember correctly, they are an option on the Japanese Z's and should be comparable to the S-tune exhaust. I think the tips are pretty large as well. Should be close to the Nismo's.

Thanks. I am not familiar with those brands, so I will start my research...
