For all you people out there that say I should of bought this or should of bought that. I bought exactly what I wanted. A corvette is nice...really nice buy 80k for a Z06. Crazy talk. A used porche I'd rather not. The only porche that even comes close to the same price range new is a boxster. Weak! Thats all I got to say about that. Show me one new car that comes close to the Z in the same price range. I've looked can't seem to find any. I owned more used cars than I care to count. I love the Z (obviously since I'm on number 2). I paid 35k flat. Included an extended warranty, clear bra, Teflon coating, and free oil changes for life! Sorry no pics still. Car is getting fitted for a cover.

You can get a base model Vette at 42K+ with a GM or family discount. I've seen prices on them after he said that. Besides I'm not going through a midlife crisis. The Nismo is under 39K new so it's a lot more affordable then a Vette.
If your going to buy a Vette make it a classic anyways 69-78.

Don't forget the 0% APR on them now.

I wasn't trying to knock this Nismo. I love them. I just think they're 5K too high and 40K can get you a better performance car these days.

You got to work on your negotiating skills. I knew the owner of the dealership and designed the building so it helped me out a little. Well alot. But at a minimum you should at least get a grand or two knocked off. If for nothing but the principal of it. New cars don't have much mark up but even still. Oh yeah and got the floor mats for free too!

^Everyone says that, but truth be told whenever you look at their final paperwork, its always more than they said.

Im betting you payed around 37-40. Im just saying...Doubt the dealer would take a LOSS for you.

So you traded sideways, good deal :P

jk.

In all honesty though, and kidding aside, its a nice car...duh I own one, but with the 370z announced for next year, why not wait? 350hp!!!!!!!

The dealer had the car there for 4 months along with another one. Somehow they sold them both in the same day. I imagine he hooked the other guy up too. I did get alittle screwed for my trade. It booked at 19k i gave it up for 16.5k. I'm sure he made up some dollars there. But to tell you the truth I paid 18k for it 2 years ago so I think I came out ok on the deal. Two years for 1500. Not bad!

$40K No Way !!!

I just bought a new 08 NISMO for $2K under invoice (~33.5K). They are dying for sales and accepted that offer instantly. Damn, I could have got it cheaper.

I am also an owner of 2 Vettes currently (I have owned 6 of them) and they are very different cars. There is no one answer for everyone and I am glad that there are so many great automobiles available these days. For those that lament the "good old days" (whatever that might mean to you), I think these are the good old days. Cars today have more advanced technology and capability than ever.

Having spent a small fortune modding my Vettes, I have already asked myself the same quetsion which started this thread. What mods are avialable for the NISMO? In my case, this is my daily driver, which I also want to take to DEs. I live abt 10 minutes from Rd Atlanta and have spent many weekends there.

If you are going to own a sports car, then take somehwere you can drive the $hit out of it!
