OP the only way your going to see 300 hp to the wheels is to:

1.Keep the stock intakes installed or Injen intakes
2. Techno Square reflash
3. After market exhaust that is not 3", with test pipe or high flow cats

no 278 is right where it should be with the above mods. These cars lose about 10% of their power from the crank to the wheels. You will get better numbers with the factory intake boxes, but the car will feel a bit less responsive on the highway.. I've flopped back and fourth between short rams and stock boxes... ultimately there isn't a difference in 1/4 mile times. _ I prefer the sound the engine makes with the short rams, and the responsiveness I get at highway speeds. (the stock box gives you a much less abrasive accelleration)

Here is a video of my husbands Nismo on the dyno...

and his dyno sheet...

Both cars have the AAM reflash, fujita short rams, stillen headers, AAM test pipes, and a custom 2.5" true dual w/ x pipe exhaust. For some reason he has 9 more hp.
278whp is low with all these mods. Fujita intake is the worst intake in the market. I have Technosquare flash, nismo y pipe, everything else is stock and putting out 296whp. Technosquare said the stock intake is the best. My car was tuned on the Technosquare dyno. Headers are totally useless item on the HR. stock is already equal length.

equal length sounds great from a marketing standpoint, but saying that any aftermarket header is useless is way premature. They are certainly a better design than previous gen manifolds, but saying they are not capable of being improved upon is being overly simplistic IMHO

I saw your dyno ... the hubby and I are thinking about taking the exhaust off and putting the AAM on- I agree we should be making more power for the mods that we have... something is robbing power and i'm fairly sure it's the exhaust.

Very well may be. That and your intake is probably short changing you. Install your stocks with K&N drop-ins.

Default Horse power

mods are great, I just put a jwt flywheel and clutch in. Also a lightweight pulley and short shifter in my Nismo. It dropped 21 pounds off my driveline. Now the car is much more responsive. Instead of trying to get more horses, try to maximize the ones you have first.

Who makes your pulley? I thought they were just being released.

Default pulley

I purchased it directly from unorthodox racing. $210. On the web sight. Same diameter as stock. Only 1 lbs. Stock was 8 lbs

Default exhaust

I was thinking about putting the Stillen high flow cats and headers on. I have a Nismo intake already. No other power mods yet. Function tuned in DC said that would give a decent gain. Stillen told me that the reflash was a bad idea also. Function tuned is a 350z specific shop in DC. Any suggestions or comments?

Did you notice a difference with the pulley?

High flow cats should make decent gains regardless of the brand. Other than stillen, fast intentions and berk seem to be popular options HFCs.

Here's a dyno with the stillen headers https://my350z.com/forum/vq35hr/3807...o-results.html

As for the tune, technosquare seems to be the most popular if not only option available for the HR. However, Cobb will soon be releasing their accessport which offers a reflash/tune plus a few extras. I'd wait for the Cobb if I were you.

On top of that maximizing your HP thought, you might also consider a 3.91 or 4.10 final drive/gears. Also replacing the exhaust should open her up a good deal.

im not really sure, i notice a difference over all, i had all the mods done the same day. the dealer cut me a break and installed it all for 300 dollars while they did the recall for the transmission. i cant say for sure what i had a better gain from.

thanks for the advice and the dyno numbers. ill probably get it done.

vortec told me they are releasing a supercharger system around the end of the year. i want the headers and exhaust to maximize that system. im building up for that. thats one of the reasons i chose to change the clutch and flywheel first.

I put down 268 stock at AAM in Maryland. It was damn near identical to every other 07+ Z there.

The exhaust doesn't add any HP, just sounds better.

My Nismo made 278.55hp@6500-7000rpm and 249.53lb/ft or torque@4700rpm.My only mods are a Bassanti catback exhaust and K&N drop-in filters,no reflash. The exhaust really seems to help out the lower rpm torque it makes over 230 lb/ft of torque from 3000-5500rpm.
