I took my micrometer to the exhaust of my 08' Nismo and found that the mid piping is 2.24" in diameter and the muffler section is 2.48" (roughly 2.25 and 2.5 respectively). Thats a far cry from the aftermarket nismo exhaust for any Z. I was under the impression the Nismo Z's had the larger diameter "after market" 350z Nismo exhaust Y pipe section and rear section though the muffler was of a different and more compact design. But to my dismay, and utter dissapointment, that we have nothing more than a stock Y pipe and tail piping to a smaller more compact muffler with much larger tips.

So I am going to weld up my own exhaust soon.

Thumbs up

I think I am going to put on NISMO Y and mid pipe.

I am going to have my shop custom cut the mid to fit the NISMO Z muffler.

Yes, sadly the midpipe and y-pipe are completely stock.

Aftermarket y-pipes will fit fine, but a midpipe will need adjustment to the flange of the muffler.

I recently dyno'd my 2008 NISMO for a baseline before my mods, and it was 270 to the wheels on a DynoJet. 3 runs, and 2 were 270.*, 1 was 269.8

I just installed the Stillen Gen 2 long tube intake system, stillen grounding kit, and engine damper the other day. That alone made a HUGE difference once the ECU adjusted to the new mods.

I am still waiting for my Fast Intentions Intemmidator exaust, fast intensions high flow cats, stillen headers, and UR Crank Pulley to arrive so they can be installed and redyno after. I will probably do a dyno again before these get put on just so I can determine the increase I received by the intake (and "maybe" the grounding kit).

I ordered the TurboXS UTEC but to my suprise, the wiring harness for my ECU is different than what the UTEC accepts :-( Anyone want a brand new UTEC for a really good deal?

you won't see ANY gains with the grounding wires or the UR pulleys, you also should have went with the injen CAI, it's the only intake so far thats shown any gains on the HR.

I was just wondering if the Nismo Z muffler will fit the regular Z piping and rear bumper without any modifications?

It looks good! What year is the Z in that picture? Is it A DE? Or it does not matter if is a DE or HR?
