So if I'm faster, are you offering to pay for my tires, rotors, brakes, and gas?

I can borrow a camera mount if someone supplies a Camera (BLUESLATE?)

I'll probably be running topless for most of the day.

^ this guy.. lol.. so loser pays winner gas + hotel?

hmm I have a camera mount but it'll only fit a G or a Z.. well it'll actually fit onto just about anycar/bike but not a S2K lol..

I wonder.. NISMO Z versus
275/25/20 PS2 Front, 325/25/20 PS2 Rear (Reminds me i need to mount them now to break in haha)
Suspension.. DONE w/corner balance and tune
Cusco 1.5 Clutch LSD
BBK with 1 step from race temp pads & two piece 14" rotors
I'll Osaris this thing if you'll pay for my Hotel & Gas too Mike =)

Disadvantages
1 Heavy-er with tires & bbk ._.
I'm un-aero dynamic
Slower 3.3 Final =( & big fcking tires
umm.. hmm.. i wonder how it'll do haha

FWIW, I really want to get an apples to apples comparison. I've held off on putting my brakes on in hopes of finding a stock Nismo Z to run with. If I get a Nismo Z with bolt-ons, then I will have bolt-ons as well.

Borrowed Amune R1 Titan... 55lbs weight reduction
headers... 35 lb weight reduction...
Borrowed Enkei RPF1's... 7 lb reduction per corner...

Car will be stock down to the tire EXCEPT for the clutch/flywheel (which technically is a performance LOSS on my car; I fall out of VTEC on a 1-2 shift, whereas a stock setup does not)

meet me on a neutral track in the middle of the country and were ON

If you need proof that the Z is a faster track car, all you have to do is look at how the 2 cars are classed.

350z Nismo is TTB car with Nasa.

S2000 CR is a TTC car with Nasa.

Also, I think Motor Trend tested the CR on their Lighting Lap and it was slower than a normal track model Z.

NASA does base classing by Weight/Power ratio, with modifications based on drivetrain, layout, and weight.

The S2k is 11.87, while the 350Z is 10.95.

After adjustments, the s2k remains 11.87 and the 350Z is 11.45.

This lands them in classes TTD and TTC respectively.

The factory adjustments on the CR and Nismo effectively put them up 1 class each.

The Weight/Power ratio is the reason they are in different classes.

As for the Lightning Lap, C&D does that. The CR is in the 2008 results, while the Z is in the 2006 results.

To show you how they can't be compared, lets look at the Lotus.

In 08, the Elise SC posted a time of 3:16.6

In 06, the Elise posted a time of 3:09.2

3:01.2 for the Vette in 08, 3:01.1 for the Z06 in 06.

Hmmmmm rather inconsistant isn't it?

Magazine racing sucks.

I'd think you made your car slower than it was by adding the 20's, and bbk. Those wheels have got to make your acceleration horrible. And 3.3 Final drive? Ouch...

In terms of acceleration, yes. His 20's also allow him a super thin sidewall (and also PWNS him in terms of tire selection).

He is, however, doing all this in preparation for FI; he's had a kit sitting around that he's unable to install, but that's a completely different story altogether.

Magazine racing sucks.

They put the faster cars in higher classes.

The same with SCCA, the Z is T2 car and the S2000 is T3. The lap times with equally prepared cars still favor the Z.
Here are the results from the run offs: http://www.scca.com/eventresults.aspx?event=12416&hub=1

The fastest Z time (by a member of this forum) was faster than the winning T3 time which as a Cobalt SS.

Big rubber and torque does wonders.

Comparing two different cars in a HPDE with different drivers is rather inconsistent isn't it???

Isn't that what all racing is? Most races involve different drivers in different cars don't they?

All I said was that I'm looking for a Nismo to track with. I never said it was slower than a CR

Oh, I forgot to mention.

The Z is specified with a 285 rear tire; the s2k is specified with a 225 rear tire.

Even the Integra Type-R is T2. Go figure.

Oh, but a Firebird WS-6 is T1.

I guess that WS-6 is a better car than both the Z and the S with your logic.
