Default Goodbye rear wiper...

I got rid of that damn rear wiper. I filled the holes with rubber stoppers:

SO much better!

I got the rubber stoppers at Home Depot. The top one is 1", and had to be cut in half to sit flush. The bottom is 1 & 1/8", and fit in perfectly. The stoppers cost about $2 for both.

They are made of RUBBER. The paint would crack.

there are paints which will work. Can you specify an item # off the HD receipt. I have the wiper arm deleted perfectly, but my windshield needs a better plug. Yours looks pro.
What department if you haven't got a number.

Thanks!

For the lower one you could have used a sink plug which could be painted. It looks a lot better imo. There is a DIY for wiper delete. I do like the the top rubber to match the tint. Good job.

I considered the sink plug, but the rubber stopper has a lower profile and to me looks better.

looks good, I've often considered this mod. as I see the rear wiper as useless.

Have a favor to ask...can you take all of the parts you removed and tell me what they weighed? I'd like to remove mine for both aesthetic and weight reasons. =)

I'm assuming you removed the motor, as well?

You're serious about the weight savings?

Anyways, I've done it on my Z already. I just put them on a bathroom scale, not super accurate for small amounts but...

Wiper + wiper arm = ~1 lb.

motor = ~2 lb.

Bah. Nevermind then. Not worth the trouble. I was hoping for something closer to 10lbs. Thanks, though.

It's definitely worth it if you want to make the rear look clean.
