Hey guys I turned down 34.5k OTD for an 08 Nismo
I think the Nismo and 370 are relativly similar in terms of performance. I think Edmunds did a test and the Nismo did a little better in the solom but the 370 beat it on the straights.
If you prefer a better interior design you may want to get the 370Z. It is definitly a step up in quality.
However If your into the exterior I think both of the cars look sharp, but I prefer the looks of the Nismo better, plus in the next few years there the Nismo will be more unique than the 370 if you like to be the only one on your block with a certian car.
Plus I like the whole idea of the functional areo kit.
Another thing to look into is that the price of the 370Z will definitly jump when you start adding the "sport" packages. Getting the nice wheels, good brakes, LSD and such. I think it will end up putting it into the Nismo's range.
I think if you bring in a check for 33K and say take it or leave it, they will take it. Unfortunatly KBB does not have the Nismo listed for 2007-2008 so you can't really get an idea of what it should be. Maybe do a KBB for a grand touring with 750 miles and see what that comes to and go from there.
Either way you can't go wrong, both are in my opinion the best bang for the buck cars out there.
Good luck, let us know what you decide

Got another quote today for $33,400. I still think that's too high, considering the economy and it is not a practical everyday car for most people so the amount of people interested in the car has to be tiny.
Screw practicality I see tons of people driving two door cars, especially in the summer. Considering the Z/Nismo Z is one of the best buys for the money and IMO best looking car (I personally think it looks sharper and more of a "wow" factor than a Porsche and other high priced cars)
I honestly thought this car would be sold out in a matter of weeks when it first came to the US. I remember drivng by a dealership when I was 19 and saying damn I wish I could buy that car, it looks awesome.
2 years later they can't seem to give them away.
I mean STI's were only a little less than a Nismo when it first came out, and I have seen plenty of the 07 STI's on the road...
I guess looking on the positive side, it makes our cars even more on the rarer side. In the rare occasion I do see another Nismo's driving around my area I always get a little upset.
for a brand new '08 nismo, and you think thats too high? If you really wanted the nismo you would have bought it already.
I just got my nismo yesterday. its an 08 brand new. Nissan is offering a deal right now until february 2n'd with 2500 rebate or 1.9% interest for qualified buyers. I also have a friend that works for nissan so I got a percentage off of the dealer invoice. i put 2k down and after ttl and all that i owe 31k. honestly 35 still a good price for the car. To be honest dealers want to make money so I don't see them selling the car lower than what they paid for it. You could go used like from carmax for about 28-29k with 8-10k miles. If I didn't qualify for the VPP with nissan i would have gone used. Good luck man! I am glad I got one
UPDATE:: I just saw your post about the 33,400. If you want the car bad enough that is a great deal. msrp is 40k man if you go before feb 2n'd you can take advantage of the $2500 rebate
don't let the dealer screw you with all the dealer options they add on it either. make sure you get what you want.

I am looking for a Nismo right now also. I have been searching used. And you can pick up an 07-08 with 7-10k miles for 25,999 up to 32. Why buy new if they are not doing the special 1.9 or 0%...?? I can get 4.9 at my credit union.(best thing I did)
Chris
also for you stoners Nismo 420 is for sale in Fort myers FL. hahaha

I think the 370 is a nice car don't get me wrong but with it being the first generation of a new car I would be hesitant to buy. I would expect alot of recals to come out of this first year.

Yeah man used isn't a bad idea you just have to consider the nature of the car. It makes you wonder how hard those 7-10k miles were ya know? just drive it and make sure it fits for you. Carmax has a couple that look decent with 8-10k miles. You should check them out online....
