Default can nismo shocks handle lowering springs?

the nismo shocks seem to be sport tuned shocks so I was wondering if they can handle aftermarket lowering springs like other aftermarket shocks can like kyb and koni, etc

Don't be Ghetto! If you want a lower ride get coilovers. This is a NISMO, not a civic.

If you kill the shocks, be ready to pay $260 per shock.

Even though I knew the outcome of asking the same question, I posted it up anyway (jmark linked the thread). My whole deal was cleaning up fender gap. I don't track the car or even drive it like an ***. But there is a valid point in disrupting suspension that was tuned. I can afford coilovers but didn't want to spend $1200+ just to lower it a little. I've decided to leave it as it sits. Until I can't stand it, then I'll buy coilovers. I thought as longs as I could find a spring to match the spring rate on the Nismo suspension I'd be ok. Not really the case.

i've run coilovers on the last 3 cars i've had. i didn't ask because I was trying to take a short cut. I was just asking because I thought the nismo shocks were able to handle lowering springs. This was just a question to expand my knowledge. some people like spring/shock combos vs. coilovers.

but thank you for the above thread. its useful
