I'll try to see how they clear in the front (9.5 rims, +18 offset) and than go square 275 all around.

I still don't have experience at TWS (just one day) and I prefer to stick with street tires till I start having interesting lap times.

So that set up works with the traction control and clears the brembo calipers? What is the cost for the rims and tires? Specs??

thanks guys
ok, the rims you can get those here from our sponsors (I got mine from import image) and the price is less than 1K shipped (17*9.5 +18)
you need "some camber" to fit +18 upfront... I'll let you know if I have any rubbing in the rear.

the tires, kumho XS, from tire rack, 680.02 shipped (255/40R17 front, 275/40R17 rear) + install.

I don't know about traction control, in this way the overall diameter is smaller ( 1 inch) but I got it because is going to give me an FD of 4.0 at the end ( the 3.9 FD is going in right now).

for the traction control I keep mine off all the time because with a 100% locking diff start fighting with the diff and is a little unpredictable...
let me just say that once it cut the fuel when I was already more than 30 degrees sideways.... NOT FUN!

pictures installed next weekend.

You will have no problem with 255 up front - its when you try to go with a square set up with 275's up front I'm not so sure about!
I'm also considering going with 17" Enkei's for track use. I think I want to stay staggered though, so I am thinking about getting RPF1's 17x9 (+22) and 17x10 (+18)
Looking forward to pics of your set-up when you get them on the car.

I know, but you know, any car has his own combination of lowering and camber.
most people are able to run 275 upfront with 10" wide rims and +22 offset without any issue... others not.

I'll see saturday or sunday if my car is ready. otherwise next week.

and yes... I'll test both 255 and 275 front. (I'll look for an extra 1/2 clearance to fit r-comps)

p.s. 9.5 all around looks good to me, 255 has a little of stretch and 275 shoulders are perfectly vertical.
I'll consider getting 2 more rims (17*10+18) if I'd run a staggered 275F, 285R setup.

Hmmm......wondering now if I should go with 9.5 in the rear instead of 10. (Also, I noticed on Toyo's website that the optimum wheel size for 275 R888's is listed as 9.5).
BTW, I think you would have a hard time finding an R-comp tire in 285 which fits.

well, to go with a 285 for the rear I was thinking about getting 2 more rims (17*10+18) but you can check from this picture... 275/40 on a 9.5 rim no bulge at all.. the sidewall is pretty much "vertical", and a little of stretch for the 255

nitto NT01 are available in 255/40, 275/40 and 285/40 R17.

This is Nitto's website

http://www.nittotire.com/functions/t....asp?tire=nt01

I don't think I see 285/40/17 listed in the NT01's
I guess it could be that their website is out of date. Have you seen them listed somewhere?????

sorry, just the kumho XS comes in those sizes..
I'll use 255/275 or 275 all around on NT01

plenty of space for 275 upfront (I have 3 degrees of negative camber there)
