CobbTuning..anyone?
$5,000 for an everage extra 35HP N/A = $142 per HP.
$10,000 for an extra 300HP TT = $33 per HP.
It's not exact, but you get the point.

you can probably build a poser TT car for 10 grand... just assemble that, don't drive it. never for more than 10 miles at the time and just feather the throttle.
maybe once or twice do a ricer race at a stoplight.
please... prove me wrong... build it and go to ANY track and have at least 10 DE events.... not 100... just 10, going at least faster than car with 350/400whp. of course.
honestly... pick one of those two:
you're clueless on what a 350z needs to run strong and being competitive with that kind of power.
you're a damn ricer that just wants the "bling" of having two snails under the hood.
you know which is your point? is just a bag full of BS.

going by your logic, a full bolt-on 350z will run as fast, if not faster than a TT'd 350z?
the only point I'm trying to get across is this; NATURALLY ASPIRATED HORSEPOWER COSTS MORE PER HORSEPOWER THAN FORCED INDUCTION HORSEPOWER. how hard is that to understand

what I say is that isn't necessarily true, it depends on what you want to do with those added horsepower.
if your target is go on a dyno, have 3 or 4 pull and post a nice chart on this forum, yes you are absolutely right. the cost for horsepower is just a fraction and the amount of gain is huge.
if your target is to really use those horsepower, on the road and on a track.. that isn't true.
because you have to put in the bucket few more things.... like how long a TT engine is going to survive, how the chassis and the drivetrain is going to handle a power that wasn't designed to handle.
and you have two roads to go in that direction:
reduce drastically the amount of horsepower you're going to deliver, or go in the unknown with a FULL built.
how many people here around beat the **** out of a TT car on a track?
Shariff.. and Jetpilot for what I know.
Jetpilot had is quota of failures and weren't cheap, Shariff I don't know.. but having THAT shop, for him is even an easy fix.
and both the car aren't a 10 grand project.
Jetpilot probably has more than that just in suspension and track wheels.
my point is that a dyno sheet doesn't have any meaning.
how much cost a 290 whp Z.. probably around 40K (buy the car and mod N/A) and that's it.
the car can handle that and live a long life...
how much cost a 580whp Z... probably more than 80K( buy the car, build the engine, upgrade the whole drivetrain, suspension, put the TT, and do all possible reliability mods..) and you'll be still not sure that "something" isn't going to fail way sooner that the N/A car.
the TCO is the real deal that is going to affect your wallet... what's the point of having 500+ whp if you can't drive the car because something is broken every other day and any time you have fun is going to cost you thousands because something is going to fail.
