I just purchased a black nismo not to long ago and absolutely love the car. But my question is it only has 5k miles and i hear a creeking noise coming from the car. When ever i go over a speed bump or just tiny bumps or even when coming to a complete stop i hear a creaking noise (its a creaking noise that pops it is not constant). Is this normal because the nismo is alot more rigit therefore the noise should be expected? Anyother nismo owners get this sound?

 

Can you use another word to describe the noise??? Also is it loud enough you can hear it or is it a noise you ears have come to distinguish. Either way I hear the rear interior panels making noise. I have removed and reinstalled them many times...

 

I think I know the sound you're describing. I had the same problem, I bought my Nismo brand new last year. Around the same milage (5-8K), the noise that you're describing started to catch my attention as I found it to be coming from both sides of the rear hatch (Same noise that my 2003 350Z track edition made at 17k). When I bought the nismo I thought Nissan would have worked all the kinks out on the 2008 model (guess I was wrong). Anyway.

I pulled all the panels off the hatch to pin point exactly location of the noise I heard. I soon realized it was coming from the inside of hatch. I started searching the forum, and found a thread about rear hatch noises.. The thread was a couple pages long, but it turned out to be helpful, as I realized I wasn't the only person with this problem. I found out on the last page the thread that someone solved the problem using expanding pray foam to pray inside the hatch to eliminate the creaking/squeaking noise. Hopefully this is same noise you're getting, and that this method will solve your problem.

 

Check the trunk around the spare tire area.
Make sure everything is all tight, especially the OEM jack and tools.

That's where my noise was coming from.

 

There isnt any other way i could describe it its literally a creaking noise lol, i also had noise in the trunk so currently im driving around with my trunk mate out and spare and tools out, but this was a different sound i think everyone else is getting. The sound i get sounds like its coming from the front right area, i even had a passenger tell me everytime it creaks he can feel it throw his legs slightly. Its only heard when im driving around slow in a parking lot everytime i turn the wheels and stuff, on the street to much wind and exhaust to hear

 

Well head to the stealerships, and hijack a tech to hear this "creeking" noise...lol...hopefully you'll find a fix, because if a passenger can feel it, can"t be good

 

I got the same thing in my '07 Nismo

 

Its the rear plastic piece that covers the spare tire compartment, under the mat. It squeks whenever you hit a bump. I thought it was my suspension and flipped out. I fixed it by putting one part of the plastic under the hinge and the other above, which keeps it tight.

 

if the sound is coming from the front it could be the spring spacers that the dealer may have left on the car.

 

Yup nismocoupe08 was right, took it to the dealership today and they found on the right side the spring spacer still on there from when it was shipped over from japan. They told me they only put thos on the Nismos, they dont even put them on the GTR. Thanks for the help guys =]

 

So...what might be your creeking noise I know you can't have that spacer on...

What didn't know the GTR ain't that special...

 

Dealership are freaking noobs.
They left mine on and I went back and they told me I had to make an appointment......

Went home, jacked up the car and took them off myself..

 

I have the same problem "sometimes"... i don't notice it enough.

 

Ha..so funny you mentioned those.. I bought an '81 280zx..back in 2004..(sight un-seen very minty condish)..well the first thing I did was make an appointment with my local Nissan dealer for tuneup , belt change..general inspection.. and they found the orig spring spacers still in the springs..lol..
