Is Your Car Getting a Lot of Attention Lately?
Is anyone else noticing a lot more attention lately towards their car. I have had a handful of people ask me if it was the "new one"
I was thinking it might be due to nissan heavily advertizing the 370Z and 370 Nismo.
In the past few days I have gotten more comments and oogles than the day I brought it home a year and a half ago.
Thought it was bizzare, wondering if anyone else noticed this lately.

I had one guy tell me the other day while getting gas that they made it look like a porsche. Um okay. Then he asked me what year, 06 or 07? I said 08. He said was it fast? I told him it goes pretty good, but it's not as fast as it looks. Then left it at that. That had to be the most anyone ever said to me about the Nismo in the past 8 months. I like it that way.
Like Galv said, I just want to left alone when im driving. I dont stalk parking lots or gas stations fishing for compliments.

I'm not accusing anyone of looking for attention when driving the car, but it's pretty evident when people are literally sticking there heads out windows. I remember this happening when I first got the car. Then I didn't notice it much but it seems to have been happening a lot again lately.

Now that the OP has mentioned it, I have been gettin a fair share more looks now than ever before. I mean my car is always super clean, but today ive had adults looking at while driving, you know, like the glance, focus ahead, glance again, etc. I tend to get nervous because Im like.."pay attention, dont hit my car!" But the Nismos definitely stand out, and if someone catches the NISMO on the right side of the car, they would probly think its the new one haha. I love this car!!!

^I get that a lot too. I think its because the Nismo is so well done and doesn't look like a riced out civic that people think its more than it really is.
For example the GT3 has the wing and front splitter, and is loud as hell, but because its done tastefully instead of a mixed and matched parts that don't quite look like they go together people give it a lot more respect even though it has all of the "boy racer" elements

I've gotten the looks like a porsche line quite a few times as well. It'll always get more attention than standard Z's by far, can't quite say I've noticed more attention with the release of the 370 however.
And lets be serious, it's not as 'fast' as it looks... handling, sure, great... but if you were to sit beside and drag a 350z GT... I think everyone who didn't know anything about anything would expect you to clean their clock.

Here in good ole' Columbus ohio i get comments, looks and people trying to run me off the road everytime i take the nismo out. it was flattering the first couple of weeks i had it.... 2 YEARS AGO .... now it is almost too annoying to drive off the track. If they are not f@#!ing with me, they are staring and drifting into me. i cant even walk to my car in a parking lot with out people around it. i bought it to drive as well, dont get me wrong, i love the car, but its not a GT-R or anything. Never had the Porcsh comment

I was comming out of church on sunday and when I went to get in my car there was a couple just staring at it. I felt really awkward. So I went to my "head down, get in as fast as I could and pretend to play with the radio until they were gone" move
I noticed when reading magazines that the "nismo" version is being pushed a lot more now than when the 350 Nismo came out. I have seen it in almost every magazine I have picked up. Maybe even more so than the standard 370Z. It was even on Yahoo.com front page under top sports cars.

I don't care what anyone says, if a bone stock car can do 0-60 in the low 5s, that's pretty fast. Along with the quantifiably larger downforce and other improvements the Nismo package provides, that's a pretty impressive car.

I love my Nismo as much today, as when I first bought her.
I traded in my 06 base for her, and I was really getting bored with
the base. So far I have not had that drop in interest from the Nismo.
It's still the attention whura it was when new, and sex when clean and shiny.

Its the first time I ever saw one moving so close, it really is a sharp, almost radical car espeically when everyone else in your area drives a Camrey

The dispute was not regarding if it was a 'fast' car but rather if it was as 'fast as it looks'... Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't be paying as much as I do insurance wise for a 'slow' car (lol) but is it as fast as it looks? No, I don't think so... and respectively speaking, it is not significantly faster than the 350z other models... but it certainly would be assumed so aesthetically speaking and with the nismo badge.
It looks like it could complete with cars 20-30k more expensive imo, and in respect to sheer speed and WHP... disagree.
