Exhaust on a budget
Took nismo rear muffler off and i'm putting a single tip on will loss 20+ pounds and free up exhaust back pressure. Only 3 14mm nuts hold's muffler on,slip muffler off from hangers, did it in my drive way with deep socket and flat screw driver.I'm 46 years old so anybody can do it,less than 30 min.Sound good will get muffler shop to weld up tip and post a pic Mon or Tues. Total cost less than $100.

The prices of the systems we offer has nothing to do with it...I'm not trying to sell you anything. Making changes to a car is great...understanding what changes do what is part of being an educated owner/enthusiast/consumer. Whether or not you buy something is a separate matter

If you do gain power, it will be a marginal 2-3 horsepower at best. And on top of that your rear end will look like garbage. Quit being so ignorant and listen to Adam.

I agree with understanding what any given change or combination of changes does to a given set up. Not my first day at the rodeo. AS an educated consumer if I compaired your HKS Kansai exhaust layed it out next to the Nismo system there almost identical. What I'm doing is eliminating the rear muffler also back pressure and weight plus saving 2k+. And as an educated consumer can see nothing but pos. results from this.

Do a before/after dyno and post your results...then you'll know how much you really gained or lost, relative to what you spent (or saved). It ain't my first rodeo either, and I've owned and modded my Z to a far greater extent, and for far longer ,than most here I don't know everything, but I do know a fair bit.
Every single pipe exhaust is nearly identical to stock layout, because there is basically 1 place the piping can run. The true duals have significantly different layouts - necessity by design.
If you're happy with it, then that's all well and good...just don't try to convince yourself, let alone anyone else who might just know a bit more than you about the subject, what you've gained as a result of the change you've made. You've changed the sound of your car, and you shed some lbs, that much I will agree with. The muffler on your car is not the most restrictive aspect of the exhaust however.
