Having seen both of your rides in person, you have excellent taste in modifying cars. Like others have said there are some nismo's out there for under 30k. When I bought my nismo Jan. 08 I had big plans of going all out and making a show car out of mine. I will say I was strongly debating between the nismo and an evo x at the time. 4 months after purchasing the nismo I found out my wife was pregnant. I changed everything. I wish I had waited a few more months before purchasing because naturally I would have went with the evo just for the simple fact it has a back seat. Don't get me wrong I love the nismo and all but it's not a family hauler. All of the weekend getaways with my wife in the Z have turned into family getaways in our Murano. The Z stays garaged for the most part.
I just hope your not planning on having any kids in the near future, cause a 2 seater just won't cut it. I would personally keep the evo, it's bad a$$, one of the cleanest I've seen. Plus the way the economy is now it would probably be a better investment to purchase or save for a house.

One thing for sure is that the Nismo is definitely not going to be convenient unless if you have 2 cars. If you plan to have a daily driver then the Nismo is great to have as a second car. Or the other way around. One thing for sure is that your Evo is sick.

I had the same problem before. i wanted to trade my Z for a 350+awhp, Motec tuned evo8 but i backed out simply because i love my Z.
Evo is a real killer car - you get bored with life, slap in a bigger turbo and it makes all your worries disappear LOL.
But being a Z owner, i mean who could resist a beautiful PPW Nismo Z?
By all means go for the Nismo!
good luck!

Thanks guys, I'll figure something out. Right now I think I'm leaning towards the nismo still. I want to get something new and fresh since my life is turned around now. For a while I was stuck in a bad stage trying to get into MBA school and waiting for the results while my ex fiance of 4.5 years cheated on me and so that was another big shock. I changed my life around and now with schooling in place and a wonderful new girlfriend I think I'm gonna go for it Plus, my ex hated the Z and my new gf and I both love Zs so this will be a good change for both of us I'm trying to see if I can get a Nismo Z within the 25-27k range. The one at the local stealership is a no - go!

I say pickup a DE and build it from the ground up the way you want it. By the time you do that you'll be at the base price of the Nismo and if you're looking at a beater car anyways then you won't have to worry about if something comes up.

Would you really drive all the way to Seattle to do that? I've driven from Cincinnati to Portland and it sucked! Go on EvoM and see if someone local is willing to trade.

That's true and his MR is very sick. I always wondered how trading worked when both parties still owed on the cars or if one owned and the other had a loan. I've been thinking about trading my TL for another SR 240 + cash. Don't mean to thread jack. If someone can send me a pm on how this works I'd appreciate it.

I've owned a 2003 Evo-VIII GSR and 2005 EVO-VIII MR, then a 2007 NISMO 350Z # 0207, I'm back on the Evo. Sold my NISMO Z last year and acquired a 2008 Evo X. Love the car, but every now and then, I do miss the NISMO. Hands down, looks-wise, the NISMO wins. Both have potential and frankly, when it comes to performance and sheer raw-Evo-experience, I prefer my older ones than my X. I bought a house a year ago and had to decide and put priorities on the table and sadly, the NISMO had to go. The Evo was more practical for me, but still with a lot of the fun factor. I wish you all the luck on your decision. Hope you make the right one.
Nice Evo too btw. =)

keep the evo!!!
because the car is discontinued it will have allot more value later on like the supra there is allot of 350z people so later on you could probably get one cheaper but the evo prices are going up.
