A little background. I own a 2007 c6 corvette. I used to own a 2003 base 350z. I grow tired of cars very quick and now that time has come for the vette. I've always had a soft spot for Z's and the 350z nismo in particular. At first I had my eyes set on a m3 but after driving it I didn't feel like it was the car for me. The z06 was the next car in mind but I would have to save up a bit more for that. So now I'm deciding if the nismo is worth giving up my corvette for. Keep in mind this will not be my daily driver. My worries are that I will miss the power and prestige of the vette. Thoughts from fellow Nismo owners? Please don't turn this into the resident domestic bash thread.
Hmm. What about your C6 have you gotten tired of? I honestly don't think you'll be very happy with the Nismo Z after owning the Vette, especially if you were considering the Z06 as your next car

I think it's quite bland compared to the z06's. Don't get me wrong, it's still a lot of fun but it doesn't keep me satisfied like I thought it would.

True,
but
If I was all about power the nismo wouldn't even be in contention as I would hold out for the z06 (which I will most likely do anyway). I've just always had a thing for Z's.
GT-R baby, seen used ones going in the mid to upper 50k's now. maybe next year for me.
Ultimately a great deal of it will boil down to what car you "feel" right in.
I gave up a GTO for the Z, so there's a sacrifice on the power front. But the Z handles much better, so it makes up for it...completely different driving experience. And I love the looks of the NISMO...it was a car I always wanted.
Coming from a Vette, you need figure out what you don't like about it. If you think it handles great and has plenty of power, then why would you want a Z? Well perhaps you LOVE the styling of the NISMO or the uniqueness of it...or maybe you can't stand the ubiquity of a regular C6.
But if you're happy on all fronts with the Vette and can't find any discernible way in which the NISMO is better, then why would you buy it? I know I could have gotten a Corvette, but I wouldn't settle for anything less than a Z06 just because I find a regular C6 to be...well, regular. And I can't afford a C6 Z06. I would have rather had a C5 Z06 than a base C6, but then you're looking at an older car and the quality really was pretty low on those cars. On top of that, I didn't really want to daily drive one.
These are all things you need to ask yourself or consider. Obviously if you're happy with everything, then you need to look at cars will improve on at least one or two areas that you're presently content with...a good starting point would be a C6 Z06.

considering you could cop a sick lowmile z06 for high 40's??? i don't get your logic.
sounds like you buy too many cars. slow down a bit. why don't you just "invest"
in the performance of your c6. Surely you can pickup 100whp for a few thou.
what are you really looking for? can't imagine your not hurting jumping from ride to
ride.

get the Nismo! haha..everyone is right about the power of the vette. also depending on what year Z06 you are thinking of getting. the Z06 is a beast ! i went from an 06 350Z to an 06 E46 m3. Got rid of the M and got a Nismo. but its all up to you sir! im happy with my Nismo still from today.
Just buy the Nismo and install a GTM TT stage 2 kit with an OS Giken clutch and dual exhaust. UPREV tuned with 525-550WHP on 9lbs of boost and call it a day
Will stomp that Z06!!!
