2007 nismo trade for 2003 m3?
I'm sorry for any and all confusion. The nismo is not mine it is my fathers car, I worded the thread that way to keep from having to go into too much detail and keep a already long thread a little shorter. I have a base model 07. So I hope that clears that up. And as far as the trade, all of you are right its a horrible idea neither one of us knew much of anything about BMW's. More less their resale value or their incredibly pricey maintenance and up keep. So after spending a few hours online researching we or should I say he said "their f-ing crazy" and decided to keep the z for awhile longer. But he is going today to test drive a 370z. Just wanted to say thanks for all the responses Haha.
There would have been less confusion if you just said it was you Dads in the first place. All you had to do was repalce every "I" with "My dad has". The thread is actually going to be longer now that you lied about it.
Yea your right. And I'm sorry its been blown up to a huge ordeal
When in all actuality its really not that serious at all. And yea you guessed it dad bought my base model too. Since a 26 thousand dollar car seriously breaks banks lol

lol well no need to say anything else.. just glad he didnt get trigger happy when he was there and get talked into trading for.. M3s are nice though.. and also trading the nismo in for a 370 is another bad move imo.. i like the nismos more and there goin to rape him on a trade in for a 370z.. imo its not worth takin like a 10k loss for it
yes! kbb for your nismo is close to 30,000 while the m3 is closer to 20,000. On top of that you don't even know how mechanicaly sound the m3 is. FYI parts for the M3 is $$$$$. If you had wanted an older model m3 instead of the nismo you should have bought it from the get go and not trade your "new car" after realizing the highest part of depreciation on it imo.
A $26k car does not brake the bank of an adult working hard (and likely full time) for their money. Ask your dad - he clearly knows. Lucky it's in his name, because the insurance is very high, especially for someone under 25 years of age. High crash rate, high theft rate, and high cost to repair all come into play.
I traded in my 2008 NISMO 350z for my current 2006 BMW M3 competition package. I actually made money back ( as I put down a hefty sum when I bought the NISMO).
I have not regretted the trade since. I actually drove my brothers nicely tuned NISMO (he also has an 08', he bought his on the same day I bought mine) yesterday. Honestly, no lie, my girlfriend said it was slower than my M3. I'm just being flat honest here, the NISMO did not feel as fast.
His NISMO has COBB Accessport (VQ35HR), Berk test pipes, JIC titanium race exhaust, and intakes.
But regardless of that fact, the M3 is in a different category. Its a GT car, rather the 350z is a true "sports coupe'/car". The M3 does feel a tad heavier into corners, but it balances them so well, its rather hard to describe. Its just that well sorted of a chassis. Not to mention the motor, the S54 absolutely screams and snarls.
I will end in saying that I have always been a BMW fan. I owned a 1997 E36 M3 prior to the NISMO.
The M3 is not for "everyone". Some may argue its a step in the "wrong direction" or its "too expensive to own and modify". However, the car is no more expensive to maintain than any other if you can do your own maintenance. As well, mods are not that more expensive.
Be your own judge, but I have not regretted the trade. Ever.

He called COBB and they created a custom tune that would compliment his modifications thus far. This is based off of their previous dyno runs of HR 350z with the same modifications. They email him the tune, he downloads it into the Accessport unit and its done.
