Default thinking about getting it..

So I'm really considering trading in my 2007 tsx for a 2007 350z nismo. Is there anything I should know about this particular model? Problems that might occur and the likes? The one I'm looking at is red with around 35000 miles going for close to 23000. Doing some research, I could find better deals and I would be willing to wait, no rush. Maybe I could make them knock down a few k's.

I bought a 2007 Nismo 350z about two months ago with 15.9k miles for $21k from a dealer...you can probably get it down a little lower. The Nismo is a great car and a lot of fun. Before the Nismo I had a touring model 2007 Z and this is definitely a huge upgrade...you'll enjoy it!

Aside from considering the practicality difference between the TSX and Nismo, the 07-08 Nismos are a little stiffer and front clearance for steeper driveways are a bit worse. Otherwise, I love the Nismo. The differences are in the body, extra welds and suspension, mainly. You can search for more specifics on that. Only problem I saw was with the slave cylinder for the clutch, but that's minor.

Make sure you check the front suspension for shipping spacers. It causes the Nismo to be a little rough over bumps. I took them out and its much smoother. Good luck.

Problems I've had with Nismo...... Clutch, transmission grinds in 6th, d/ power window motor 2x, pass side seat air bag problem, vibration at 85-80mph on the deceleration,Rear tires wear out prematurely, theres more things just can't remember right now....

I'm not worried about the stiffness or front clearance haha. My tsx is pretty slammed and set on almost max stiff on buddy clubs.

wtf... Are those common problems or just something you've been going through?

Well with gas price rising up like crazy, I'm reconsidering buying one.. But we'll see how gas is after I graduate.

In general, there is more issues with the 07 than 08. I'd say the passenger side airbag along with the clutch (the CSC in this case) are more common in 07's than in 08's. As an 08 owner, I've never had any issues thus far. Power window seems kinda weak thinking about it, but it's still working fine. Some 07 owners don't experience any probelms. I haven't had my gears grind and experience no vibration and any speed. Just depends, some cars have more bugs than others, but that goes for previous Z years as well as every other car out there. I would do most of your readings in the VQ35HR section and go from there.

Bout my 08 with 21k miles on it for 24k...no problems yet and the ride is not bad considering all the suspension mods done...clearance can be a problem but its a sports car you dont want it riding high...overall gas mileage is not that bad..i get 25 mpg on the highway which is what i drive 90% of the time...tire wear is from driving like a dumbass more then likely...
