Default New to forums, Nissan, Nismo and have questions please/

Thanks for helping to start!

I got a 08 Nismo black with 30k miles. Last week.

1) I want to touch up the body kit, what color is stock? Should I make it black to match the rest of car?

2) What should I have looked over by mechanic? Brakes, tires are new. Belt is new but have small fraying? Is something rubbing and is it a big deal?

3) What upgrades should I get first. I know I could browse all the fourms, but really just need a summary. Thinking maybe a chip and intake? What name brands? Maybe spend 2k or less, but will spend more if needed.

4) There is a small burn hole about 2inches up on roof. I was thinking of getting a Nismo badge or something to put on both sides. Maybe a strip of alumium.

5) I was going to put a bra on it, whistle muffler tip, and dice in mirror? Just kidding.

6) Any other tips?

Answer any or all of these please, I will read and respond. Thanks again.

Welcome to the site. Pics please. Do a search for paint codes on 08 Nismos and you might find your answer.

If you have a mechanic, great. Let them look at it and pay the man to give you a professional opinion.

Are you serious about the chip and intake?

Thanks for responding.

Yeah I need some upgrades, seems like the car can handle decent. I was thinking some of the first upgrades would be chip and intake. Guess thats wrong?

Do you like the idea of going black on kit?

Any other tips?

are you asking if you should paint the bottom lip black? If so, imo the 2 tone looks good how it came from nissan.

K&n drop in
Plenum spacer
Pick a exhaust you like the sound of, motordyne makes some good components that make nice gains.
Leave suspension stock because nismo z33 are damn near perfect. Or at least learn the dynamics of the car before you start changing stuff.
Get a tune, and call it good.

And def keep the stock two tone, looks sex on a black nismo imho.

I dont get it, your dad was looking at the one in PA?

The NISMO exhaust seems to sound decent. I will research the other things on that list. Thanks for help.

Welcome! Post pictures!

Try browsing the Drivetrain and Nismo 350Z sections for ideas on modifications. It really depends on what you're trying to accomplish with the Nismo.

I'll have to disagree, there's room for improvement.

I thinks it's better to learn the car before you change things on it. Then you'll never know if you upgraded or down graded. Just because you buy suspension **** doesn't mean it gets set right to IMPROVE handling. No?

This coming from the guy who suggested a plenum spacer on a HR?

OP, Welcome to the forum/NISMO family. Make sure you post in the NISMO registry. As for modding, it all depends on what your goals are. As proven above, you will get some great advice on here and some that isn't exactly the best. Before you do anything, do plenty of research on this site.

You're missing the point. You said the Nismo's suspension was near perfect, I'm simply saying it can be improved upon.

I swapped out my suspension at 1500 miles.. I honestly don't even remember how the car handled when it was stock.

I do know that once you go with a fully adjustable suspension, it takes many tweaks till you find what works for you! I am close, but have alittle oversteer to correct. A simple swap of the rear sway bar settings and it should be spot on.

What # do you have?

Honestly don't worry about modding right away imo. I had all these plans when I got my nismo, and all I've done is custom shift boot, nismo ****, pioneer indash, subwoofer, custom radar mount and ST800 smart key system. It's an awesome car right out the box.

I think next spring I will do exhaust, hfc, and a uprev.
