Questions for Nismo owners
Hey all I am very new to this forum and have yet to purchase a z but I am seriously considering a 2008 350z nismo and I was just curious about a couple things with the car.
1. How is the visibility in the car, I was a little worried since the z doesn't have great visibility to start with and that spoiler could only get more in the way although I love the look.
2. How harsh is the ride, I know with the nismo you have a tighter suspension and I was just wondering how harsh it would be as this will be my everyday car.
3. How well has your nismo held up, I'm looking to keep this car for a good six years and I'm buying one with low mileage.
4. Finally, I plan on this being my everyday car, will this be a good everyday car or is it truly not meant for everyday driving and mainly just for weekend fun.
I'm mainly concerned with the longevity of the car and I want to know how well it has served you.
I have been doing lots of research before buying my next car and I think the 350z nismo is the car I will be most satisfied with, I just wanted to ask you guys first as it is not a very cheap car and I haven't heard too much about it.
P.S. If im in the wrong sub-forum please redirect me I just assumed if I had questions to ask about a 350z Nismo I would ask it in here.
Thanks in advance!!!

1.) Visibility is fine, but be wary of the nose of the front bumper. The rear quart panels in the rear are kind of hard to see out of when backing up and merging. It's not a problem anymore because all of us have gotten used to it.
2.) It's a lot better than a GTR's suspension setup. You should be fine, but remember your buying a SPORTS CAR, not a Lexus.
3.) Held up really well, no issues at all.
4.) It's fine for a daily driver. I daily drove mine more in the summer since I'm away from the car for the rest of the year. I like it. You can take it to the track and drive it home that night.
5.) A friend of mine on here beat the living crap out of the car for 30k miles and he checked the compression of the car when he took it out and didn't lose any. You'll be fine.
Best bang for your buck Z wise. Enjoy.

Appreciate the feedback.
That is exactly what I want to hear.
Also does anyone know how often this car pops up for sale in *****. Right now I'm planning on making a 2 and a half hour trip down to south georgia to go look at the car this weekend but if these pop up in ****** all the time then I can wait a week or two.

Man I miss the ATL! I got mine up in union city Nissan, but good luck. There was young lady here who also is from around the upper north of atlanta that got hers. I believe it was a silver nismo edition. Good luck and definitely get the HR engine. The car is definitely worth every penny and is a keeper car. Btw, what part of Atlanta are you in if you don't mind me asking? Midtown? Buckhead? Marietta?
As far the Nismo's popping up, I hardly see any unless they're from a salvage, but if it's from a private owner just make sure it's well maintained and you'll be fine. It's really a hit or miss with these cars. You might even find some here in the marketplace.

Although I have daily driven my Nismo, it's currently not my DD for one main reason: clearance (and we have an issue with people keying nice cars here parked at the mall). Most driveways or entrances I can get into, but some places just can't get away from scraping. This is primarily due to the lower extended part of the front lip. On a non-Nismo Z, clearance isn't much of an issue. So, if you think you can deal with this and/or isn't an issue in your area, the Nismo could work.
Otherwise, the suspension is harder and the spoiler does stick up into the view, looking into the rear-view mirror. These things don't bother me.
Aside from the suspension and body kit, the Nismo is basically a 07-08 model Z, so you can expect the same reliability or issues that come up with the HR's. For me, the car's been great, no big issues and reliable. The gas mileage is decent and is a blast to drive.
The best is to drive a Nismo and see for yourself, once you find one. Or, drive a non-Nismo, and you can get the general feeling of it, i.e. visibility, feel, and you can see if you'd want stiffer suspension and a spoiler in your rear-view.

I use mine for a daily driver and I love it. Just keep up wih the maintenance on it and you should be fine.
I have never had a problem with visability, it is a little obscured but as long as you pay attention then you should be okay.
Its really a fantastic car good luck hope you find one.

1. Not too bad, just set your side mirrors to view your blind spot, not the car. The rear spoiler kind gets in the way, but it helps block drivers with super bright headlights from blinding you.
2. I like it. I get a bounce on a stretch of I-10 in my city though. lolz no biggie.
Tracked the car a couple of times already.. My stock seat is worn down on the left side and doesn't keep me in very well. lol
3. My interior pieces (all 350z interior pieces) are kinda scratched up in commonly touched areas. I repainted my window controls shortly after I bought the car.
4. Eh, I have a beater and when I drive the Nismo to work, it kinda never stops coming to work with me. Until I force myself to drive the beater. lol

I'm happy to hear that all these Zs are holding up so well and if I get one I fully intend to keep up with all the maintenance so hopefully mine will hold up just as well.
Also thanks for the warning on the low front lip and visibilty, although I don't think clearance will be a huge problem for me and i'm sure I can get use to the spoiler in my rear view just as you all have.
So far it's looking good I'm definitely planning on making the trip down south this weekend to go check out the car.
Any key things I should look out for on this car when buying it used? The one im looking at is from a dealership so it should still have the 7 year warranty and be in relatively good shape.
