Speaking of AAM , their 3" titanium dual and single exhaust is one of the best (in my opinion) for the Z. Sound wise and looks. I've also heard many great things peformance wise as it is one of the largest flowing exhaust on the market.

Here's some eye candy I posted in another thread: yummy!

GTM stage 1 turn key, 3" exhaust

Let a reputable shop tune at 6 or lower psi for 375whp and I def. think it will be right at $10k. Your not going to be able to beat around a track with it I don't think, but as far as some nice street pulls I don't think anyone else on here would object to it?
Sounds spot on to me!

That picture of the car you just posted.... Is my car. When I first got my Nismo I was a complete and utter newb and I though 3" true dual would sound good on my NA Nismo. WRONG! That got undone pretty quickly.

Had it on for less than 24 hours and got stopped by cops twice.

Here's the picture Clinton sent me when they did the work:

It was so loud, that I could literally turn my music ALL THE WAY up and still not hear it while I was driving around. You could feel the ground vibrating 10 feet away from the car. It was a lesson learned (the expensive way).

than avoid to learn another lesson in a very expensive way.... doing a "decent" (meaning somehow reliable) turbo setup on a VQ engine will run you out of at least 20 grand and more likely in the 30s...

why? 10K is just the beginning without building the motor... assuming that you'll be happy with 60/70 whp more for 10K ( than your car value also drop )... anything more than that and if you drive it, you'll have issues with clutch, differential, temperatures, brakes... besides making the car even more nose heavy than it is...

you can easily spend 15/20 grand (installed) in "supporting mods" keeping the car N/A.... if you want to go faster, buy something faster... it is WAY cheaper in the long run....

I know all of the pros and cons. I want something unique, not just something faster.

I would buy another car then.

I have many hours and many builds under my belt, I don't expect you to agree with me but I'm talking from my experience. Keep the car as close to stock as possible. It is a clean, good looking performer. The CTSCC cars run 350~400hp and they make for some great racing, on the street our roughly 300~315hp cars should be more than enough for most. I know a lot of people will not agree with that, they want their 400, 500 or 600+hp cars. I say whatever to that but it's their choice which is fine. I would rather spend my money on track time at great circuits really enjoying what I have in my car than spending loads to make my car go faster in a straight line. The best nut to tighten is the nut behind the wheel.

Do some basic upgrades which are beneficial for longevity - ss clutch line and wrapping, brake ducts for the front Brembo calipers, etc. These kinds of things will help keep your car in top performing shape without mechanical issue. Again, this is all my opinion, but I believe Nissan did a great job with this car and Autech put together a basic package which should be appreciated, not altered or beefed up. Save the money, hit the track, buy tires, join your local SCCA and AutoX for practice.

I would like to track it. What kind of upgrades besides an oil cooler should I get if I were to track it?
