wait until march 1st when lexus announces the mk2 IS which will probably be a 3.5 liter rather than the 3.0 L now...then put some nos in it...i've seen threads on is300.net about installs...try that

check insurance on the is300. When I was car shopping I wasn't going to let speed be the deciding factor and I came down to two cars. IS300 and 350z. Insurance for the IS was about $50-60 more per month. Made picking the Z an easy choice. I doubt a is300 would be more affordable than a Z.

thats good i wonder if it was just a fluke for me. For some reason USAA and progressive quoted me more for the is300 than a vette. I am under 25 and not married so the discounts havn't kicked in for me yet.

EDIT: just check on progressives webpage since they already have my info. On a stored quote i switched from 04Z to 02IS and my quote went up by 40%. I wonder whats the deal with the is being so much.

I put in a bunch of cars here is the list from most expensive to least expensive.

Dodge Viper SRT 10
Lexus IS300
05 Vette
EVO
G35c
350z
05 Mustang GT
WRX STI
Neon SRT4
Crossfire SRT6
Crystler 300c SRT8

Only thing that I am surprised by is the SRT8 being the cheapest in the bunch and the IS300 being more than the vette. The man didn't want me to have an IS300 I guess. It worked out I am happy with my Z.

I am just peeved that if your insurance company is giving you a better rate on the is300 than mine would b/c I used that as a tie breaker. I am not upset with my Z purchase but its annoying that I may have made a choice based on faulty info... ohh well so far so good.

well the Z is a nice car but i personally think the is300 is a bit more "driveable"...i need sumthin more practical and still fun to drive...and still moddable...but i duno...just depends what your looking for...i liked my Z alot but also what sucks is i live in illinois where 7 months out of 12 are pretty shitty and cold....i only drove it in the summer/spring/some of fall...im gonna drive the is300 year round cept for when it snows hard.
