I have always liked the idea of having Nitrous but do not want to compromise reliability. I have so far not heard of anyone blowing the VQ by spraying so I am considering it.
To help sway me, please answer these questions:
1. Has anyone on this forum blwn an engine from using minor boltons and N20?
2. what is the most I can juice and still be able to count on not killing the motor? 25 shot 50 shot 100 shot?
3. How often can I use N20 and not have to worryabout overdoing it. Once a day, once a week?
4. Anthing I should do while spraying to keep the engine from going to lean and puking?
Thanks!

It all depends on how good your setup is.
I have had very good experiences with nitrous and bad ones with turbos (bot on a celica not the Z)
Do a lot of reading, understand how n2o works and what you need to run safe.
Nitrous is defefintely not a street application, you never should spray longer than 20 sec at a time. It's for drag racing at the track only.
One of the things I love about nitrous vs turbos is that you only spray when you need to and so the wear and tear on your engine is less and more controlled whereas a turbo is on 24/7
people on here have been running 100 shots for quite a while without issues, but again they are using all the safety features such as tps, window switches, colder plugs, high octane gas and so forth.
I have to say the only thing I always hated about nitrous is having to fill up the bottle

Thanks for the reply.
2 more questions.
1. Will switching to colder plugs take away from Normally aspirated performance?
2. I know I should do a search but what are TPS and window switches. (I dont want to hear Tire Pressure Sensor from any of you smart asses out there !
I dont intend to track or compete. When some Yuppy pulls up in a 911 turbo I want to be able to wipe the smug grin off his face at a moments notice. I am thinking about a 75 shot with a remote bottle opener. That, in addition to all the other NA mods. So far I have UR pulley, Borla TD, JWT intake + AA plenum spacer. I am still planning on a flywheel, Headers, HF cats and maybe shorter gears.
Do ya think N20 will pair up well with these mods?
thanks for your help!!

The switches are saftey devices that only allow your system to spray when the time is right. Do a search there's tons of threads on this.
BTW, your not gonna go around killing 911 turbos with a 75 shot. You might suprise them a little by keeping up but smoking them is just not gonna happen. You will also need to take the underdrive pulley off in order to spray. I'm working right now on getting a lightwieght pulley made that has no underdrive.
In additio nitrous is not touch and go... you need to get the bottle pressure up to 1050 psi before you can effectively spray. So even with a remote opener you might have to wait a few minutes. So unless you politely ask the 911 owner to wait while you do "strectches" to get ready for your race you're out of luck

BTW: Don't mean to threadjack, but about how much does a full, say NX, nitrous kit with all the safety stuff minus install and colder plugs cost? Any links to where everyone has bought theirs?
peace

Yeah Max HAx lost power by adding a UR underdrive pulley in a ddition to N20. Why the hell is this ? I dont see the relationship between the juice and an underdrive pulley.Has anyone figured out the prob??

It takes a bottle heater about 20 minutes to get the bottle to the right pressure and it only works if the bottle is open. So unless you're in a hot environment you're not going to be at 1050 psi with a click of a button
