Default Gurus please chime in - Doing Zex Install SEttings?

I have a few questions so here they go, any info is GREATLY APPRECIATED!

1) I have a Zex Kit, what jets should i use? I have the 55, 65, and 75 jets that came with the kit but heard these arent TRUE RWHP numbers, what jets would give me a true RWHP number, im intrest in 55, 75, and 100

2) will my stock ignition timing be ok up to 100 shot? if not what should change it to, and how would i do that ? (dealer only???)

3) I just orderd the NGK irrdiums #LFR6AIX-11 when i install these what should i gap them to? .30???

4) any other tips / suggestions are greattly appreciated!

This is what i have so far:
Zex Wet Kit
MSD Digital Window Switch
NGK Irridiums (on order)
DynoTune N20 digital pressure gauge (on Order)
DynoTune Bottle Warmer (on order)
DynoTune Purge Kit (on order)
AEM Wide Band A/F Gauge (ordering this week)

Anything else that im missing to have a safe reliable nitrous system?

Thanks again!

using a 100 shot on a Zex is probably closer to 75 rwhp.
stock timing is fine
don't remember the gab but search on here, it's mentioned
other tips? Get rid of Zex and buy NX

Where can i acquire the jets for a 100shot and also what sized would those be for proper a/f ratios, hopefully the system will be completed by sunday and i will post pics with gauges and all that good stuff. Also what is wrong with the Zex unit and what makes the NX better? thanks!

If you have a Zex kit you would get the jets from them.

Why is NX better than ZEX? Zex is nice and compact I give them that but NX is way more experienced, their solenoids are more solid and stable and can take more of a beating and their HP values are true at the wheel and not at the crank.

I know quite a few people that started with Zex and pretty much every single one of them switched over to NX due to technical issues with their zex system.
It also depends on how often you use your kit, if you don't spray very often you probably will be ok with zex.
My humble opinion though is that I rather spend a few 100 bucks more if it ends up saving me 1000's

In any case make sure you start off with the smallest jets to test out the system to be on the safe side. Once all is well you can up the shot.

Good luck

I will probally be using this kit quite often, but lets see how everything goes. I have another questions i plan on running 100 octane fuel for the 75 and 100 shots but would it be safe to run 91 octane on a 55shot? i just dont want to have any problems. let me know thanks!!

Also i purchased the AEM wideband what should my A/F ratio be at while spraying? and what would be dangerous thanks!

that's safe.
I would recommend to get the NX Chemical X Nitrous solution though.
That's basically an octane booster designed for nitrous and it cleans out your engine as well.

What window should my A/F ratio be at 11-12?

I'm not sure but the maximizer A/F safety shut off defaults to 13, so you should be safe below that

Default 13.0?

Tomcat - R U sure the Maximizer defaults @ an AFR of 13.0? I've finally made enough time to play with my ZEX/Maximizer system & I programmed it to S/D the nitrous @ 14.0 ( using the output from my AEM wideband ). I thought optimium power was made at 12.7 so 13.0 wouldn't give ya much room for error. Just trying to see if I've overlooked something.
FWIW - I've got the best of both worlds with my system. I'm still using the aggressive TS reflash for N/A cars but using the J&S Safeguard to pull timing when I spray. I've run 4 10# bottles so far ( started @ 55 hp jetting & up to 75 hp now ) & the plugs show nothing yet. When I step up to 100 hp jetting, I'll probably use one of the 12v outputs from the Maximizer to activate the J&S automatic 4 degree timing retard plus have the Safeguard's regular 10 degree knock sensors on alert to pull more ( if necessary ). Wish me luck!!

that sounds very cool, looking forward to hear results.

You know I'm only guessing here on the maximizer default setting but I am fairly certain it's set to 13
