Default Too much power?

I was wondering how bad would the wheel spin be with a 150 shot from say a 40 roll? I intend on using it at the track where ill have slicks but in case anything arises on the street where i might need to put something in its place, do you think from 40 mph with Pirelli P Neros 275 width, the wheelspin would be unbearable?

Should be no wheel spin @ all.

Years ago I was running 200hp+ direct port shot and would not get wheel slip. Although it does depend quite a bit on road surface. It sounds like your wanting to run on the interstate so you should be alright.

Im running a hundred shot right now, and really considering increasing it.

When I had my 19s, I would get MAJOR wheel spin with just a 100 shot from anything under 50 mph! And that was with 285 wide Dunlops. I have the stock 17s now, but haven't tried it under 50 again.

Default Gearing

It depends on which gear U're in as well. If I'm in second ( A/T ) & hit my ZEX 100 hp shot, the 275/35/18 Nittos don't have a chance! That's why the NX Maximizer is such a great tuning tool!! I can proram it to gradually ramp the power in as the rpms increase & a different ramp map in each gear. Obviously I can dump all the 100 hp in at once in third gear ( usually around 70-75 mph ) because traction's not an issue at that speed or rpm. Thinking about moving up to 125 jetting until I have Rabbid install my Vortech. Than I'll have to jet down & configure things for a seamless power curve utilizing the nitrous to get me into boost & then ramping it down as boost increases.

yea thats one thing with nittos though, if there not heated up they spin like any cheap tire, i had them on my car before and when they were heated up they worked beautifully but when cold they just spun. My pirellie P Neros now are good no matter what though. I should have this kit installed after i get the parts in which will be about 7-10 days from now.

I have juiced the 100 shot like 6 times. HUGE difference!!! Havent spun on a roll yet. (dont remember the speed, I just get to happy someone wants to race me and let them have the jump and watch there surprised face when i drive on by). Did it once out of the hole against a GTO, spun all through third and stayed with him once my tires caught it was the end of the story.

I have a maxizimer, but im shooting pure 100% to enjoy the JOLT. Will tweak it soon to improve my launch.

I am controlling my 100 shot via a Maximizer controlled via a laptop. I have it set to ramp that shot from 35 @ 3000 rpms to 100 @ 3800 and still get massive wheelspin on the street @ anything below 50 mph or so. I could not imagine how much spin I would have if I did not ramp the shot at all. I am running street tires, however these tires have been good for 1.9's on sixty foot times, so I would consider them above average street tires.

With a 150 shot, I myself would not spray at 100% for anything under 60 to 70 mph.

yea once i wear down my pirellis i should get a set of nittos when its warm out but nittos in the winter would be a horrible idea so ill stick with my neros for the rest of this season. Also i think if i hit the 150 shot in 1st gear i will def spin but if i flip the switch once i hit second im sure i have enough speed at 4000 rpms to prevent me from spinning.

what about settin up a diff shot in each gear? like:

1st - 25
2nd - 50
3rd - 75
4th - 100
5th - 125

i'm sure that would help. can it even b done w/ a maximizer though?

Thumbs up Absolutely!

Show - That's the beauty of the Maximizer!! Yes, U CAN set up a different shot in every gear & also adjust the rpm at which it comes in as well as its' ramp-up speed. It does it ( via percentage ) by pulsating the solenoids so the only downside I can see is wearing those out sooner than ones on a standard nitrous kit ( especially when ya spray @ almost every opportunity!! ).

well im sure it can be done with a maximizer but im not sure because i dont own one. Right now with the zex setup, i cant adjust the shot size because its controlled by the jet sizes that go into my sprayer nozzle. My plan is to have have the bottles open and when i get through 1st gear ill flip the switch for the 150 shot so i get it around 40-45mph in 2nd gear. I think this will work best at the track and hopefully on the street.

Do you have 275 series tires on your stock 8" wide rims? Did you buy a N20 kit? Two of the fastest n/a Z's on the east coast, both in MD, now one is going FI, one is going N20, things are about to get interesting

yea i just realized i have 245's my bad. I was thinking of my drag radials(which are long gone) . Anyone know if you can use a maximizer with a zex kit? or can you not control the shot size no matter what with a zex kit?
