GAAWWWDDDDDDD!!!!

I love reading all the wives tales of "the evil nitrous oxide." It is just ridiculous.

You are not going to hurt anything with a 100shot.

Nitrous is far easy and more consistant to tune that a blower or turbo. Of course, you bottle pressure needs to monitored. You A/f ratio will be way off it the bottle pressure really low or super high. Keep it in a nice range between 900-100psi, and make it a tad fat!

It is true that nitrous isn't great for high speed, sustained runs for 2 reasons.
1) your line pressure is going to drop significatnly.
2) most solenoids aren't designed to be held open for more than 15 seconds at a time!

Finally, use your brain!!! That is your best bet to keep your engine together and that goes for all methods of unnatural aspiration!

post a pic of your dyno, and run, no offense, but i doubt a 100 shot gave you 347hp, if i did i wouldnt have bought a turbo, I ran a 100 shot, it nothing compared to 8psi on your Z

I dont need to see a timeslip but I would like to know a few things. What tires do you run? 60ft? 1/8 trap and e.t. and 1/4 trap speed? Also do you have weight reduction. Not doubting, just would be nice to finally see a legit N20 set-up and track times....

now this run i left it in 3rd gear, hit the rev limiter about 10 times before i figured out i had it in 3, i usually do my runs in 4 so i dont have to worry about shifting... the funny part is i didnt ever shift outta 3rd, i just let off and hit my brakes at the end to let my friend know it was a crappy run. he called me and said "why the hell did you hit the brakes, you ran 12.9"

Man if you could shave a few tenths off of your 60 ft. time you could be running mid to low 12's. I was gonna put on a vortech supercharger or a turbonetics turbo but I might just go the cheap route and throw on some nitrous. Ever had any trouble with the kit?? what set up did you go with, what size shot are you running and how much did it cost. Need a few pointers with Nitrous setup never really did any reserch on it yet. Thanks for all your help.

i am running a NX wet kit, the jet sizes are 53 and 28 .053 and .028 to be exact, i am actually porting out the lower intake manifold as we speak to direct port it into that. it will be much more consistent that way so i should see more evenly distributed nitrous into each cylinder. which will make the engine last longer and better horsepower.

pm me if you need to know anything else. i love the kit and would do it all over the exact same.

except for seeing if my borrowed 265/18 drag radials would hook up on the street, WOT, a nice *** launch, hit nitrous in first gear, it was sick as hell for being on the street. didnt know there was a Florida State Trooper two cars behind me. he let me off though, he was laughing and being cool as hell. he said this is gonna cost ya!!! then asked what i do for a living, told him i was an electrician and he asked for my number, said he needed some elec. work done and let me go..... whew!!!

I can't remember what jets I am running, but I think it is a .52 N20 Jet and a .31 fuel jet.

Audible and I are running similar setups (both Sedans) but mine is a 6MT, and we are runnign similar times (same track ,too.)

You can't go wrong with a nice NX setup! IT JUST WORKS!!!

I just need to know everything I need to buy, or does the NX wet kit come with everything I need?? What other things would I need besides the wet kit(if any)? I was considering the edlebrock dry kit that is made for the 350Z. I read the right up in Turbomagazine but does anyone else know anything about this kit?? Thanks again guys.

just buy the 6 cylinder wet kit, AND A BOTTLE WARMER!!! i cant stress this enough, it keeps it perfectly between 900 and 1000 psi, i mean it really makes a big difference. its would be fine if it never got under 85 degrees outside, but i doubt you are in equador....

its really easy to install, once you figure out a good place to go through the firewall....

if you have a lot of money, you should get some sort of controller, then its a thoughtless process, just set the windows for it to go off, and how much and when and blah blah blah, i like having a button in my hand, sure i might send one of my pistons through the block, but at least it will be my fault and not some little computers... im soooo kidding, computers never mess up....

I agree w/ with Mayhem. I prefer to keep my nitrous systems as sijmple as possible. I use a microswitch activation rather than TPS.

The NX kit is very complete. The only thing I switched out were for some smaller, more attractive switches.

A bottle heater and a bottle pressure gauge are essential extras.

I recommend www.dynotunenitrous.com for nitrous accessories. They have great stuff. Their bottle heater is a 300 watt unit, compared to the NX's 240 Watt unit. I have the NX one because I bought the GenX2 upgrade for my system.

A great place to buy the system is through http://www.ptpmotorsports.com

They gave me a super deal on the NX kit. Blew away summit's price, plus the kit came with all the jets from 35 HP up 150 HP. Most "import" kits only come with jets up to 75 HP. Also PTP has a great fuel line adapter: http://www.ptpmotorsports.com/fuliad.html

Good Luck!!!

Alberto,

I personally run with a set of Goodyear Eagle F1's 245/40/18's which are bonafide street tires. Thought about DR's but would rather just race the Z as I drive it each and everyday. I average between 1.9x and 2.0x 60 footers. I don't remember my 1/8 time and trap, but if you really need it, hit me up and I will dig through my time slips. As far as quarter, 12.5 @ 113. I run the NX Maximizer which is programmed via my laptop and when I ran 12.5's, that was with a NX 75 shot.

BoOsTedz33TT

You should really do research before you post. Shots are specific to manufactures of the jets used. For example, the brand NOS measures their shots at the crank and the brand NX does it at the wheels. My Z produced 337.6 HP and 382.8 TQ on a 75 shot.

In regards to your comment on whether or not a 55 shot is worth blowing the motor on a 3800 lbs (<----where the hell did you get that weight) car. I guess that would depend on how you look at things. I know of a LOT more motors blown by turbo or SC than by nitrous. I AM NOT saying that nitrous is any safer, but I assure you, that it is no more dangerous than your setup.

Since the nitrous 75 shot dyno numbers above, I have retuned for a NX 100 shot as well as a 125 shot and assure you that I am well above 350 HP to the rear wheels.

As far as your request for people to show you a picture of their dyno and run, I can do one better for ya! Why don't you and I just meet up since you are in Texas. You strike me as the type of guy who wants to get to the bottom of things, so let's do just that. I'd be will to meet at a track near you or we can meet at San Antonio Raceway, which is about 15 minutes from my house. I am trying to increase my chances of this actually happening, so you let me know what you want to do.

Since you yourself said that there is no way that a 100 shot is comparable to 8 lbs of boost, let find out! Wouldn't that make a great video?
