Ok, ive checked that the relay works, mater of fact i hard wired a switch bypassing the window switch and porgrammed the zex unit.

For some reason the window switch doesnt want to activate the relay.

Do i need to wire it some special way? I just put a white wire on the signal lead? do i need to put the other white wire to ground?

Did you call zex direct on this? They have a tech department. I'd think they'd clear this up for you in no time. I'm buying the same switch and hope it's easy to intall, sounds like a pain in the ***.... hope not. Let me know how you make out.

this is a few weeks old, but did you connect the TPS wire also? I know you said that the Zex box has TPS, but the TPS/Window switch controller will not close unless both signals (tps and window) are met.

the hardest part for me was finding the correct wires for the TPS and RPM signal. The directions from dynotune were really good and the unit's simple display actually shows you all that you need. (You can confirm that it's reading the correct RPMs, and it shows when the TPS and RPM criteria are met individually)

i have the zex unit, it has 5 wires.

power
ground
tach signal
1-aux
1-aux

no room for a tps signal, so that isnt an issue. I may just have to get the dynotune one.

Here's a quick test to run:

connect power, ground, and the tach signal as normal. connect a multimete with 1 lead to Ch1 and 2, and the other lead to ground...measure resistance while driving and see if it goes to 0 when you're in the RPM range you set.

*the dynotune unit has a way that when you press and hold one of the buttons, it displays the current RPMs (X1,000) that it's reading...I know the first time I hooked it up, it was way off, I had to select a different tach siganl option.

hope that makes sense.
