Update: Headers, plenum spacer, test pipes in....tune this week. TurboXS might be coming down to kick it with the guys at SGP...Mark + TurboXS tuning the UTEC = badass results.

Robert, give me a call when you go to Baytown. I want to go. I don't live to far from there. I'd like to see you run out there. Are you going to get some tires on there so that you can hook up. I don't think street tires will do.

Will do bro. Picked up some 20s last week (just the fronts)...ordered the rears today. Only gonna rock them when I wanna floss. lol. Put new street rubber on the stocks and just ordered (2) 18" rear wheels off the 05 Touring from a guy on another Z board. They went in the mail today. When they get here, I'll be putting some drag radials on them.

All that's left to do is wear out the street tires on my stocks so I can put some autocross/road racing tires for MSR or TWS. I know you'll be down for that!!! hahaha. Before I head to the road courses I'll need better suspension. Damn this is an expensive hobby....no wonder I sat out a few years. hahaha. Should get my car back tomorrow. We shall see.

Nice set-up! Looks like we'll have a friendly competition! I'll soon have a similar set-up, hopefully installed, tuned and running by next weekend for a track event in Bradenton. The kit shipped out Friday, so I'm hoping to get in with enough time to tune it.

I went with the NS(NitrousSupply) EFI kit and also I have some parts coming from AudibleMayhem to help complete the kit. I picked up some V6 Probe 15" rims with Hoosier 245/60 on them from a Mustang guy.

I have the utec installed already with basic breathing mods, mrev2 and 1/2" spacer. I'm tuning for 100 shot first, if all goes well we'll try 150 with 100 octane. I not too concerned with the 150 shot because I think the utec does a great job of protecting the engine. With it being able to pull timing when sensing knock, retard timing, acting as TPS/RPM switch and the ability to log A/F(tuner w/b). It really helps eliminate SOME of the problems that can occur. Really, I'm more concerned about my stock clutch and rear axles.

My utec is being tuned by my buddy Ztampa, who's no SGP, but he does work for beer!

If you don't mind, I'd like to tag along on this thread and update my set-up as it gets completed and running. If not, I guess I could start my own.

Good luck and have fun!

Update: Getting the car back tomorrow. NA map is complete. They're tuning the nitrous maps today and tomorrow. Picking up the rear 20" Axis mods tomorrow as well. Just need to buy tires for them now. 18" rear tourings (matches what's on the Z now) came in yesterday. Gotta buy the drag radials for them soon (running out of cash). Should have dyno charts posted in the next couple days. Gonna hit the track in a month or so (if my schedule allows). Hopefully this will turn out to be a whole new car.

Only thing I'm worried about at this point is if the test pipes are gonna make the exhaust sound like crap. If it does, oh well, its all in the name of horsepower!!

Sounds good bro. Hope it works out. If it were me, I would have bought everything from Jeremy. NX is the best!

Can't argue with that...yet! Really, it came down to money! $345 for a wet efi kit shipped was too hard to pass up. Its solenoids and nozzle are probably not as advanced as NX, but the guy who came up with this kit is one of the original owners of NOS. It was really hard to find write-ups on it and most of the threads I found were on corvette forums. They didn't have anything bad to say.

Consistency is the key! Through data logs, if we find out the A/F is not consistent with this kit, I'll definitely go a different route. However, with proper maintenance(changing/cleaning solenoid filters) and bottle/fuel pressure, I don't for-see any issues - fingers crossed!

You should be good. Just try different fuel jets to get the right A/F ratio. Hope to see you posting some good times. Holla

Update: Just got word from Mark that my clutch is toast. First run on 150 shot jets and it toasted at the end of the dyno run. Put down 440lbs of toque so we exceeded my goal, but I gotta drop another grip of cash on the clutch....might as well do the flywheel while they're in there. One more hick-up, but at least its a good hick-up (if there is such a thing).

Yeah, in my first post on this tread, I stated my biggest concerns were the stock clutch and axles. Well, I hope mine holds up through the weekend because I've got a track event that i paid $27 for.

I got confirmation that my kit is being delivered today so I'll post pics of the kit and install soon. Putting in the one step colder plugs was a snap.

Old School, how many miles on the clutch? I've got 36,000 on mine but I bought the car with 32,000 a year ago, so it hasn't had much abuse lately. Did you feel your clutch might be an issue?

Didn't think it would be an issue until way down the road. I spoke with plenty of guys on the board regarding their stock clutch and all said it holds 150 shot. When I was spraying a 75 shot, I didn't feel any slippage. They did mulitple runs on the dyno with different shots starting with 75 shot, 100 shot, and then 150 shot. It didn't start slipping until the 150s went in. I have 24k miles on my 03 Touring. I bought it used with 11k miles and I don't think the previous owner dogged the clutch (she was in her 50s). Could have possibly been the dealership when they take customers for test drives....they tend to get on it. That wears down clutch life big time. You're suppose to baby the clutch for a good 500 miles. When I put spray on my civic, the clutch started to get real soft after a bottle or two. I already expected this b/c its a civic, not a sports car. Went with an ACT clutch and it held no problem for 50k miles....don't know how much longer after that cuz I sold the car to some kid right after F&F came out. Gonna go with ACT again, but I need something that will hold at least 600whp b/c I plan on building the motor soon. Pushing close to 450 lbs/torque now and with a stroked motor I should be in the 500s easy. Anyone heard anything else about GTM's stroker kit?

TruBluz told me yesterday that he sprayed 100 shot for a long time. I'd stick with that for now until you have the funds saved up for a flywheel and clutch. That way, when it does go out, you can get it done right then.

Are all of us ex-Honda guys? Yeah, I've always had upgraded clutches prior and planned on one for the Z. I'll definitely stick with 100 shot with these Hoosiers unless it straight sticks...then I'll be tempted. UPS just showed up and the kit looks great! This has got to be the best looking bottle!

Yea, I have been building hondas the last 12 years. This is my first nissan. Do a search in this forum for install pics. I took some of mine with all the hidden solenoids. Never took a picture with my bottle in the back (have a gym back with a slit in the bottom to hide the bottle). No one can ever find anything even when they know its on there. Pretty funny to watch everyone get the "where's waldo" look on their face looking for all the nitrous parts. lol. I call it "where's nitro". lol

Its up and running! We started with the 75 shot to make sure it was operating correctly and then swiftly came home to grab the 100 shot. We got one good run in before the rain came. It logged a little on the rich side and sensed zero knock.

There's a track event today where 100 street cars signed up for 5 hours of track time. It'll give us an opportunity to get it dialed in. With the 100 shot I'm looking mid 12's with the Hoosier DR's. If I don't get it... jetting higher!

Open differential owned me!
125 shot with 245/40/15 Hoosier DR's

60' - 1.967
1/4 - 12.53
MPH - 111

Can only heat one tire up and gets crazy loose at the end of 3rd and 4th. I was very pleased, definitely need and LSD. With an LSD, new clutch/flywheel and a dyno tune, I'm looking 11's. Before I left, i ran with my 275 nittos, didn't hook till the middle of 3rd.
