Default Direct port nitrous system installed with pics

Hi guys, I wanted to start a thread and share our progress on our install. Pics will be up shortly. Quick overview: Kinetix ssv with nx dp system, nitrous outlet window switch/activation switch, electric bottle openers, heaters, nx blankets, dynotune "switch panel"(guage style) and quick release bottle brackets, stand alone fuel sytem for nitrous, electric pressure guages and quite a few items I am sure I am forgetting. One of the bottles is for the engine and the other bottle is set up to spray the intercooler. Z should be completely dialed in and on the dyno within 2 weeks. Jason

looks good man, what size shot are you going to be running?

I was thinking of getting the Kinetix ssv when I go direct port, looks very easy to work with

Thanks jksstar, We are going to start with a 50 shot and see what it runs. I am hoping we can reach our goals with no more than a 100 shot. I have a feeling a 75 shot will get us to our goal of 10.0 @ 135mph. If so we may run a 150 shot at the end of the season to see what it will pull. Thanks again, Jason

Thanks everyone. jksstar I am not sure of the jet size offhand and I am out of the store for a few days. I will give Eric a call when I get a chance and have him post up the size. Jason

thanks, thinking it would be a .014 nitrous and a .008 fuel (if made that small) in each nozzle.
What made ya'll go with a direct port set up and not just a singe nozzle?

Again very nice set up, can't wait to see ya'lls new times

I know your Z is a drag Z, but I wonder why do you guys continue to use the kinetix SSV manifold when its been proven many and many times to not live up to the claims? I have owned one myself, and I must say, its a big difference getting a crawford manifold. Is it b ecause its eaiser to setup direct injectio N20?

jksstar, It is our opinion that their is far less of a chance for a nitrous backfire in a direct port set-up. Thanks again, Jason

plumpzz, I assume you are na if your sig is up to date. We had the crawford plenum on before the ssv. We dynoed the Z with the crawford plenum and then dynoed again with the ssv. We tried to match conditions as closely as possible ( temp, hum., tires, etc.). Bottom line is we gained power and tq with the ssv over the crawford. I think the ssv got a bad rap because it did not live up to its claims in na cars which I agree has been proven. But how many people have run a before and after dyno like we did for a fi application? It is also about the only way to run a direct port set-up on our cars.

Okay. I assumed that that was the primary reason, also along with the direct port N20.

jksstar, I will get with Eric to post up the jet size. We just got back from the dyno and it appears that the jets in our Z currently are about a 35 shot. Also to answer your question a little further about direct port vs. single is the additional safety of even distribution to each cylinder. Jason

Jeremy, thanks for the compliment on the DP set-up. I had estimated when I started the install that I could have it finished in 2 1/2 to 3 days. Lets just say I was very optimistic with that timeline. Hopefully we will see some good results with this set-up. Track opens April 25th. I hope we can move up a spot in the drag section. Thanks again, Jason

I think with that setup, you wont have a problem moving up on the list. April 25th cant come soon enough I bet!
